Resort Specific Threads

Hi everyone!
I hope this isn't the wrong place to post this, but am I the only one feeling like some of the resort specific threads are getting a tad off topic these days?

I'm ALL for chatting, keeping up...all of that. But some of them have page after page of off topic stuff and the only reason I mention it is because resort specific questions and comments are actually getting lost/brushed to the wayside from so many everyday comments.
Maybe there is a solution to this? Not sure.

I so hope not to get flamed for this-and sincerely don't mean offense to anyone. Just a little reminder that lots of people are looking for resort specific info and its nice to be able to go to that resort's thread and post instead of beginning a new one.

Most of the resort FAQ threads - at least the few that I frequent - have all their info on the front page or front few pages. If you're looking for factual info, that is normally where you will find it all. That's why the rest is for chatting and planning. Important info that gets revealed in that chatting part is usually added to the front pages by the original poster. I think they work just they way they are intended, if they are well managed. Since there are many resort threads I don't ever read, I can't say if all work that way.

Planning OF COURSE is fine, celebrating your upcoming trip, keeping up with each other, etc...I guess what I'm saying is there are times when there are legit questions or opinions needed about that resort or upcoming trip that aren't addressed on the front page.
Recently I, (and I observed several others also) that posted resort specific questions or wanted opinions and never got replies bc there were SO many other discussions going on about everyday life.

Maybe I'm out of line, it was just an observation. No harm intended.

I can say POR/POFQ is very well managed, since Andre posts all the info on the front page of the thread and he also maintains a website for both resorts that has a wealth of information.

I should also say we are very much a "community" over on the POR thread, since many of us go at least once a year and we do converse on little things from time to time. Anywhere from who has the best type of camera to pumping people up who are getting ready to leave on their trip. I feel it is always on topic, because we share the love of POR.

I can say the one time POR did go a bit off-topic was recently, because many people were moved over to the Poly due to the construction issues with the RR. However, it was still people talking about the RR's, so we were still on-topic mostly.

I often thought when I see people start new threads, it is quite the opposite. Rather than using the search function and looking for the threads applicable to their subject, it is just "easier" to start a new thread.

The threads like "family of 5" and "online check-in" come to mind. I don't know how many times I see a thread with a request for information, do a quick search and post a link for that particular question in a matter of two or three minutes.

I should add one final thought. Once Resort specific threads go to the second page, people don't often see them (possible newbies to the Resorts board) and post a new question, not knowing they exist. If you re-post your question to the Resort Specific board, it helps bring the thread back around to the first page, thus assisting other newbies who might not be aware they exist.

If a question gets lost on some of the fast moving threads feel free to repost it. It will get answered. I have had that happen even on a thread I started myself. I find some of the fast moving resort threads to be fun. The BC/YC is well run as well. The first page has a wealth of info. Then the thread itself is discussing CL and coffee right now.
