Resort Room Text

Everyone who does online check in gets a text if you add a cell phone number when you do the check-in. If you check in at the front desk and your room is not ready, they will ask if you want to receive a text message when it is.

Apart from once in 2010 I've done online checkin for every reservation, and I have never gotten a room ready text. Not even when I've given them a cc number. (Now that's required but it hasn't always been)

Just to show how random it is, we had two rooms on this trip. Online check-in done for both. Both on my MDE account, both on same credit card, both with same request. We got 1 room number sent via email /text and the other we had to go to the front desk

Just wanted to add that my "room is ready" message was an email instead of a text.

And there was one time I got neither an email or a text but saw the room assignment on MDE while I was on DME. That was how I knew they had "upgraded" me to a Pirate Room, so I went to the desk to ask them to "downgrade" me please.

When I'm doing a half and a full marathon, I a) don't want a double bed and b) don't want any additional frame trappings to walk into.

And having a proper mattress rather than what amounts to a mattress topper is nice, too.

You can go directly to your room. When we check in at the security building before entering the resort, they have always given us our parking pass. This only applies to DVC resorts we have used, not sure about other resorts.

So you can choose to get it by email or text message? It is impossible to put in my mobile number on MDE, the amount of digits including the country code is too many digits. So I would appreciate to set it up by email..

Yes, but there is no guarantee that you will receive an email, just as there is no guarantee of receiving a text.
