If you have a car, you will need to go down just to get your parking pass.
And this is the sole reason we love doing online check in and so far, getting our text with our room number. We come in on ME so there is usually a line of folks coming off with us. I love having the option of not standing in that lineI usually like going to the desk because they will give you a map of the resort and a list of activities. However, when we arrived this past weekend, the desk had a line, so we went straight to our room and had no problem getting in.
I love it too! I never delete those texts. I think it's neat that the WDW & DLR ones come from the same number, so they're all in one big conversation chain on my phone. You can head straight to your room.
I love getting my room number texted to me!
When I checked in at BLT (Labor Day Weekend), the guard at the gate issued a pass to me.If you have a car, you will need to go down just to get your parking pass.
I thought many of the resorts where not giving out parking passes now. I probably would look to see if many of the cars had them and then go and ask for one. If not, I would not worry about it.

Everyone who does online check in gets a text if you add a cell phone number when you do the check-in. If you check in at the front desk and your room is not ready, they will ask if you want to receive a text message when it is.afterthought...can everyone get a text of their room number or only club level guests?

No, not everyone. Not even everyone CL.Everyone who does online check in gets a text if you add a cell phone number when you do the check-in. If you check in at the front desk and your room is not ready, they will ask if you want to receive a text message when it is.
You can do everything necessary on online check in and still not get a room text. No one knows why sometimes you get them and sometimes you don't.
We just experienced that with Caribbean Beach on Saturday. I did online check-in and was ready to go. Boarded the plane at 2:00pm, no text. Landed at 4:00, no text. I thought..."Hmm.... maybe I have to scan into Magical Express before they text me since they know I'm taking that route. Maybe I just don't remember the order of things from last time..." Scanned into ME, no text. Finally got there at around 5:15 and had to go to the desk. Nothing out of the ordinary happened or was requested; just seemed like luck of the draw.
