We check in to the Coronado Springs Resort on August 29. We got a letter from WDW today telling us that we will not have a refrigerator in our room for our stay and that if we need assistance with a special request we can contact the Guest Services team.

hmmm .... I heard that all fridges there have been replaced for the NY Life convention coming in on 8/25. They rushed the replacement to get this done for the convention. You can glean some of this info from the Coronado Springs thread. ******** is the best source for CSR and this i what he is posting on his website!

cbr pirate room, sept 20, we got a letter saying they were replacing them, but not a for sure you wont have one

Checked out of Pop 60's section yesterday. Still no new fridge. Old one is there, unplugged with a letter attached to the front of it explaining not to use it.

Checking in to POR Sept 19th and we got a letter this week as well.

I read on another thread today that it was a blanket mailing that went out to everyone even the resorts that have the new ones. I would check into it more if it's important to you to have a fridge, otherwise you can just request the 15.00 a day credit if you don' t get a fridge.

Really? You can get a credit for the fridge? Since when must a hotel/resort put a fridge in the room? :confused3

Totally agree ... imagine having a 14 night stay and getting a $210 credit. I could use the ice machine and live without a fridge for $210. :cool1:

We had a 13 night stay and got $195. It was very doable without a fridge. We brought a few extra large ziplock bags with us and filled them with drinks and ice. We changed the ice twice a day in the morning and before bed.

If you don't mind my asking, how did they give you the $195? I assume not in cash. Did they credit your room account? Did you have to ask for it? We're leaving in 17 days and this may apply to us as well so any help would be, well, helpful. ;)

First they put the credit on my Magicband, but I had so many issues with my magicband the first day. I was back and forth to the front desk because I kept getting locked out of my room. At the end of my first day, they asked me if I wanted my credit payed out in cash, so I said yes.

Oh and I did have to ask for the fridge credit upon arrival and I was told no at first, but I persisted. The CM checking me in went to speak to a manager.

Thanks for that info. :thumbsup2

I stayed at Pop from Aug 19-25 and there was no fridge (it was there but unplugged with a note on it). I went to concierge and asked about a credit and they gave me back $10 per night, not $15.

Hmmm...I've heard of $15 credits or no credits, but this is the first time I've heard of $10 credits.

I was surprised too when I was offered a $10/night credit and not $15... but I didn't argue it.

I walked up to the concierge desk and said to them that since a refrigerator was one of the listed amenities when I made the resort reservation, was there any credit available? Without even a blink of an eye, the CM said yes, he could give me a credit of $10. I was surprised it was that easy to get a credit and grateful to get one at all, so I didn't argue it. Not having a fridge was going to have little to no impact on our vacation anyways.
