Resort Refillable Mugs

I am sure this has been answered elsewhere. But, I bought a refillable mug at the WL in 2003. I am going back this August. Some have said they have brought their mugs back and used them again. I don't think thats true. Anyone know for sure??

I'll chime in here too....I love the mugs, I must have 1,000 lol and they're so great!! Gotta love 'em and they're wonderful memories!

Technically now you cannot bring them back, however I've seen people bring them back and the CMs know about it and didn't say anything.

How I knew is because I wanted the fat bottom mugs at WL and the CM said they stopped making the fat bottom ones for WL and only have the small bottoms. I asked because I saw several people with fat bottom mugs filling up.

The CM really didn't care. BTW, if you're wondering... the design is still the same.

We had paid for our mugs by the middle of our second day. We bought them immediately our first night at VWL, and filled them twice that night (when we bought them and then again an hour later). We filled up before every trip to the pool. We filled up sometimes, just because (like if we were wandering around the resort we'd fill them up). We went back to the resort several times in the middle of the day; we filled them up then. We got so much use out of our mugs. And they make great souvineers. At first we though $12 was a little expensive. Then we realized how much soda we drink. It was a no brainer for us. Granted I don't really want to see much Sprite again any time soon, but we saved a lot by buying those mugs. Oh, and we had soda in our villa but we used the mugs more; they were more fun for us :teeth:

A little OT -

Does anyone know where to puchase refillable mugs at Yacht Club. This is our first stay at Yacht Club, and I can't seem to find out that information. We usually stay at the Contemporary and always buy the refillable mugs (new ones every time!!!). They are great for the trip, but also great to use at home!!! You can't lose IMO!!!

There should be 4 shrink-wrapped in your room. If you take off the shrink-wrap, you have purchased the mug. This was at BC but I think YC is the same. They are also at Beaches and Cream.

I don't like to drink more than one mug of soda a day, but what was nice for me was to make iced coffee. I would ask for a mug of ice and fill the mug with hot coffee, and the result was very good.

I also prefer to have a cooler/refrig. with my favorite drinks in my room. It is cheaper than buying mugs and more convenient than walking to the quick service area to fill them.

On our trip to AKL I was on the fence about buying the mugs. Before going I had decided against it since we were only staying one night. However, once we arrived I decided to go for it. My teenagers got their money's worth & then some. Between the animals & the pool they were outside quite a bit. They must've had 5 sodas the first day & hot chocolate the next morning. Plus when we left they refilled their mugs for the drive home. Once we got home I loved using the Disney mugs. I use them for my smoothies in the morning. I usually make two smoothies at once & since the mugs have a nice lid, I snap that on one of 'em & have it for a snack later in the day - or for breakfast the next morning.
