resort refillable mugs

upon returning to disney from a trip in 2008,
are past years mugs eligible for refills?
or must you purchase a new one for each year that you visit?

The technical answer is that resort refillable mugs are valid only at the resort at which they were purchased for the duration of the stay in which they were purchased.

You would not be able to reuse mugs from 2008 at any of the resort other than perhaps CSR at this time without everyone noticing as the mugs have changed to the new 2009 design.

Welcome to the Disboards Trisket. With you being new and all you probably don't know that this is a hot button topic. According to signs placed where you buy the mugs, they are ONLY good at the resort you purchased for that particular vacation. So no you can't use them again. Besides there are NEW mugs this year. And yes you will find many other people using old mugs from previous years.

1) No, past years mugs are not eligible for refills
2) Yes, if you want to get free refills you would have to purchase the new mugs on your trip.

btw, WDW just came out with new mugs with different designs on them, here is the link (just in case you are interested in what they look like):
