We've never stayed on-site and we definitely will be on our first trip with children. At this time, there will be three adults and two children under the age of two.

I've been doing lots of research and I would like to stay in a moderate resort - POR or POFQ, but I'm wondering if we could benefit from the deluxe experience and go with a lesser expensive deluxe resort such as AKL or WL?

As a side note - we still haven't decided when we're going. I'm about to rip my hair out over that one! :rotfl2:

Hi
I first want to congratulate you on your 2 miracle babies.:thumbsup2
Dh and I also put off going to Disney for quite a while to pay for infertility treatments, which did not work, but then we traveled to China for our 1st daughter and upon returning home found out I was 2 1/2 months pregnant with my second daughter. They are also very close in age as your two are and we will be staying on site for the first time as well.

We are going Nov 29-Dec 3 to make use of the value rates and decided to stay at the Poly. It is much more $ than I wanted to spend, but to be able to go back to the room for naps, etc I think will be a huge bonus for us.

After reading many, many posts here on the board,I felt it would be better to stay on a monorail resort. We will also be 3 adults and 2 little ones,so the best layout for us was the poly. My mom is coming with us and she will stay on the daybed.

The planning part can be very confusing, but as I now see,it doesnt get easier, now we have to decide on our ADR's ,which building to choose for the Poly etc, lol, :confused3 but it sure is fun planning again and I cant wait to be able to see disney thru the eyes of my kids pixiedust:

So once again, congrats and good luck on your planning

We are staying at the Poly this trip as well. I am still shell shocked at the price but was able to secure an annual passholder discount that reduced the price considerably. We are traveling with my mom who doesn't get around all that well and my toddler. The Poly will be incrediable convenient for all of us.

Wilderness Lodge is wonderful for families! The lobby is so beautiful. It has a little bridge with a babbling brook under it. Kids will love that, there is also a geyser out near the pool which goes off every hour. WCC is a great family fun restaurant also. We love it here!

Thanks for the quick replies. That is one of the thing I love about the DIS board!

Marcy, congrats on your two blessings as well! Through all our years of TTC, I kept telling everyone that I couldn't wait to see Disney through the eyes of my children someday. That time has come and I couldn't be happier! :jumping1:

Wow! I'd love to stay at a monorail resort, but that's going to cost a big chuck 'o change and I don't think we can swing the Poly just get. Even if we waited until October (which is one of our two choices - we're down to June or October of this year) the money is going to be stretched.

I'm trying to figure out how to get discounts, but I'm not having any luck. So, I'll do a little more research on the WL.

:thumbsup2

I like WL and AKL, but not enough to pay the extra compared to POR, which is also beautiful!!! You can save enough money to pay for an extra night and take things slower. (WL does have the boat to MK, though, which might be helpful.)

Another option, if you're worried about space, is either two adjoining Value rooms or the All-star suites, but I don't mind having 5 (legally ;) ) in one of the POR rooms. My family did that several times when I was growing up. For our last trip to POR (2 adults, 1 toddler) we put DS down for bed and then read behind the curtain separating the bathroom area until he fell asleep and then came back into the main part of the room and read quietly in bed (except for the days we were exhausted and went to bed when he did!) DS also *really* enjoyed the boat ride to DTD from POR.

It is *such* a fun age to take the kids! :)
