As a relative lay person regarding getting the best room rates, I would appreciate your advice or any information you can pass along. I recently got a AAA rate of $184 plus tax at the Swan for the first week of Dec. We'd prefer staying at the Yacht Club but our AAA travel agent gave us a price near $400 per night there. Is there a better way to get a good rate at the Yach Club? Is the Swan rate a good one? I'm not crying with 2 loaves of bread under each arm , I'm happy to stay with the Swan if need be. I just want to make sure that I'm being savvy and not foolish . I thank everyone who responds, this truly is a GREAT forum with very knowledgeable and friendly people. It makes planning a WDW vacation even more fun.

click on the link above for the dolphin/swan. see what type of rate they can get you.

if you want the YC no - WDW has been very cheap with discount codes.....

that say if you want to go with BCV (not as great a view) you can rent points from a DCV and stay here for around $120 (just not on fri/sat). no housekeeping....

Keep and eye on this site and also check www.mousesavers.com for discounts for your trip time. I would say there is a good chance that an AP room rate will be out for the YC. We stayed at the YC with an AP (BRP) this past Dec. 25-30 for $240 per night (tax included). You will be going in value season, so the room rate should be less than our room rate. If discount rates do come out for Dec. it probably won't be until this fall.

Don't ignore the AP room rates because the discount can be up to 40% off rack rate. The additional cost of the AP may be well worth the discount and you can have an excuse to go back to WDW within a year.

Thanks folks, like I said, the Swan is a nice place but we've stayed at the BC and would love to try the YC. Can anyone advise how much an adult AP costs? And what are the useage parameters?
