1. if you are a guest at DGC can you pool-hop to the captain hook themed pool at DLH?

2. theme park view at DLH? which park would that be? disneyland or DCA?

3. DLH - can you request a specfic tower? should you? which is better?

thanks!:earsgirl:

Hi,

1. No, you cannot pool hop. They just started that rule recently.

2. I've never heard of a "theme Park view" at the DLH, only at GCH and PPH. They have "Resort" view, that would be a view of DTD or of other hotels.

3. The Marina tower is the main tower, that's where the front desk is as well as the restaurants, ballrooms, and shops. The Sierra tower is the one with the Concierge lounge. It also has the view of DTD. The Bonita tower is the one closest to the PPH. And a request is just that, it's not guaranteed. I would ask for the Marina Tower if you are getting the Pool view. Sierra tower if you are getting the Resort view.

So, I'm not a Disneyland expert, but here is what I've experienced:

1. From past experience if you stay at the GCH you can use the pools at DLH and PPH as well as the pool at GCH. If you stay at either of the other hotels you are not supposed to use the GCH pool. This has been a huge debate on the other boards, but again when we stayed at GCH we were able to use all the hotel pools.

2. A theme park view at DLH is somewhat difficult, it's the furthest away from any of the parks. PPH has a great view of DCA, and GCH is basically on the grounds of DCA but we could see the fireworks and splash mountain from our room (which actually had a view of DTD)

3. If you choose to stay at DLH I've heard that the Sierra Tower is the best. The hotel is, somewhat, in a U shape, with the Sierra Tower facing towards DTD.

My personal choice, if staying on site at DLR, is definitely the GCH. It's more expensive than either of the other two hotels, but being as close as your are, in comparison to the other two, it's well worth it to us.

Anyway, you should have a great time!!

2. I would think the only conceivable possibility of getting a theme park view would be the very top of the Sierra tower, on the DTD side, on the north side of the building. But even then, I'm very skeptical you could actually see anything. I've stayed high on the pool side of the Marina tower, and going out on the balcony, and looking left, you don't come close to seeing the parks, which is what makes me skeptical.

It's all a matter of personal taste, but I would rate the best views in this order: (1) DTD side of Sierra, (2) pool from Bonita if higher than about the sixth floor, and (3) pool side of Marina. The pool side from Sierra is good too, but I think you can end up seeing clear over to the top of the hotel's parking garage, which is not so attractive. And, while the Bonita pool view is nice, it's quite a walk from the self-park, making Marina a good option.

hi again ... thanks for the tips

the packages i'm looking at from small world consist of either a "city view" or "an upper resort view" at DLH - i will check with agent to find out exactlly what resort view means

we're definitely set of DLH because DD loves peter pan/tinkerbell -DH and i were okay with either DLH or DGC so we let her pick.

any idea of weather in early feb?

Weather in Feb--generally in the 60s but can range from low 50s to low 70s usually, rain very possible, but last Feb we had several days that were very hot--in the 90s where I live, which means that the DL area was upper 70s-low 80s during the day.
