My family was going to stay at Pop Century but changed and we are staying at a new condo in kissimme. We are doing 4 days of disney, should we reconsider staying at Pop? I need pros and cons thanks!:goodvibes

Absolutely on site. Four days is not really that much time at the WDW resort. You are there, close to transportation and can get a jump on things.

We have always stayed offsite and never recognized much delay in getting to what we wanted to do (based on what others told us). We last stayed at a place maybe four miles from the main gate and, since we could walk right out the door into the mini-van, we were inside the parking lot in maybe ten minutes. It seemed comparable to people walking to their transportation, etc. Plus, we'll save money by eating breakfast and most dinners at the house. (We like to use a sit-down lunch in a full-service restaurant as our mid-day break.)

This year, since we're going in January, I found a 5-bedroom house with a heated pool at Windsor Hills (even closer than we were before) for $1000 for the whole week. (That included taxes and pool heat but those two things were pretty much a gift from the owner after she found out we're pushing forward with this vacation even though my husband has been off work with an injury (he's a professional firefighter) for almost two months now. We told the kids months ago we were going and they've been so excited...we're just not willing to cancel.

Anyway, that's my two cents. We'll have SO much space and I'm just not sure we'll be spending any longer in transit.

I firmly believe that staying onsite is the way to go. The previous poster has never stayed on site, so really can not make a comparison. Transportation time is only one factor.
When you are on site you are immersed in the Disney magic. You can not get the same feeling leaving the grounds each night. It becomes much more than a visit to expensive theme parks and rides, but a full vacation experience.
We use ME now and do not rent a car, so we save money that way. If there is somewhere we want to get to quickly we can always take a taxi, and still be out ahead financially. Not having to drive is part of our vacation experience.
Being on site you are eligible for Extra Magic Hours (EMH). The value of this can not be underestimated. You can get more done in the first hour of an EMH morning, than in many hours during a busy day.
We prefer to save longer and go less frequently and stay onsite, than to stay offsite for less and go more often.
It is important for us now to stay onsite.

Parking for non-Disney guests is $12.00 per day and you have to park at the Ticket & Transportation Center at Magic Kingdom. Disney buses, on the other hand, take you much closer to the main entrance of the parks, especially at MK.

I love staying onsite and have not stayed off property. BUT, if I had a choice between a condo and a value, I'd take the condo! I would only ever stay at a value again if I got a REALLY good rate, like $59 or less. Otherwise, if I am again faced with the choice of value or offsite, I'd choose offsite. Especially since the condo will have a kitchen, washer, dryer, elbow room, etc...
