I'm pretty sure I remember that kids have to go down the slides individually, but I was curious if they would allow my 4 y/o to go down with her water wings on? Just wanted to be prepared if it's a "no". Those of you that have or have had a 4 year old, or anyone who has ever been around one, I'm sure you understand ;)

I'm pretty sure it will be ok. If not with the wings, all pools have life jackets for kids to use. :) And, yes, it will be one person at a time on a slide. Also, many slides don't let parents wait at the slide bottom. The kids need to be able to swim over to the side.

If your child can swim by themselves, they can use the slide (alone). If they can't actually swim then they can't. Doesn't matter if they wear wings or not.

We had no problems at BLT, AKL, OR POFQ this summer and DS4 was wearing water wings. Have fun!

Sounds good. Just trying to avoid a meltdown. Thank you, and I'm glad to hear the pools have life jackets available. I didn't realize that.

That's wrong. Kids do not know have to swim to use the slides; how would the life guards know?

Be careful with water wings...I have seen them pop! Using them on slides can be iffy if there is any kind of a leak or such. The vast majority of life guards will not allow you to stand at the bottom of the slide, waiting for your particular child to exit!! So, any child using the slide should be comfortable hitting the water without a parent standing there to catch them.

My dd was/is a fish. She started out on the slides at POR, at the age of 5. But she quickly outgrew them. If a child isn't comfortable in the water, and really not old enough to trek to the top of a water slide by themselves, they should probably not use the slide to begin with.

My son was 4 on our last visit and he wore a flotation vest with no problems on the slide at POFQ. My DW was at the bottom of the slide to catch him and I would slide down after he went.

The lifeguards at the poly this week let some parents stay by the exit when their child was coming off to catch them. Some kids had shimmies on, other life vests and other kids had other kids of flotation devices on.

Kids at SAB wear life vests. The life guards are pretty vocal about clearing away from the slide after coming down

DD6 loves that slide. (Well, we all do)

We were at POFQ last week and DS used the life vest to go down the slide. I did observe many parents waiting for their kids at the bottom of the slide.
