Resort parking on arrival for one night stay, use buses to MK

Please forgive me if this has been asked somewhere before, I tried to search for the topic but came up empty.

My family originally planned a much longer trip through Florida in anticipation of me being laid off and thus having lots of time available. However, I found last week that I will NOT be laid off (yay!), so we had to seriously truncate the plans and will now only have one day at WDW.

Here's the question: We will stay the night of June 29 in Jacksonville, and leave early on June 30. We figure we can arrive to WDW at roughly 930. We plan to stay at a value resort (probably Sports) that night. That being the case, can we go directly to the resort (possibly with online check in?), park there and take a Disney bus to MK?

We understand the room will not be ready at that hour, and have no intention of trying to gain access to the room or other resort facilities until at least 4.

Regrettably, the next day we will need to head back north, so there will be no need take any WDW transportation that day. Effectively we would just like to have the car at the resort to a) save the parking fee and b) not require someone (probably me ;)) to trudge across the TTC lot to the car and move it in the middle of the day back to the resort.

Am I asking for too much, or does this plan seem reasonable? Does anyone have any alternate suggestions if this won't work?

All assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You have FULL access to the resort & WDW services from the time you check in, no matter how early! We have checked in as early as 7:30am. That morning we even freshened up (after driving all night) in the pool facilities at the recommendation of the desk staff. Our keys opened the pool-house doors at 7:45ish, we changed, put on our sunscreen, dropped our stuff back in the van, and got on a bus. If your room is available, you will be able to get in, but most likely they will send you a text when it is ready.

Have a great time! :goodvibes

As a follow-up, we showed at the resort at 9:45 and were told the room was ready! That was amazing.

Of course, they did not deliver the folio to the room, and then when I went to ask for it, they gave me another guest's info.

Back to the old drawing board...
