Resort packages vs shipping snacks beforehand

Taking our first big family trip in November. Older 2 kids (12 and 10) have been for a very brief trip back 5 years ago. Youngest 2 (4 and 2) have never been, so wanting to make it enjoyable. I know you can call ahead and have some kind of packages for the kids waiting at the resort for you. Are these worth it? We'll most likely be flying so I had also thought of mailing a package ahead of time filled with snacks, etc., to have waiting on us. Or would it be better just to get those things from the resort? (cost isn't that big of an issue, fortunately)
Any other must dos/don'ts that you've experienced with a "large" family?

Check out garden grocer for in room snacks! Easier than mailing a package for sure, and you can get cold items for the fridge too if you want.

If your family likes specific snacks, I'd ship them ahead of time. In my experience, not all snacks are available everywhere in the country. Plus there is a considerable mark-up at Disney. My family likes in-room snacks for when the munchies hit and we don't want to go buy something. We still eat Disney food but bring some of our own from home. I'd prefer to save my money for souvenirs and snacks I can't get at home. :)

Are you looking for regular snack food or something "Disney" to be in the room to welcome the kids? If you're just in need of regular snacks you might want to consider using a transportation service that will stop at the grocery store on the way to the resort of the Garden Grocer. If you're looking for something "Disney" we did this once a long time ago thru the Disney Floral dept. It was super nice but really overpriced. I wasn't disappointed because I knew I was overpaying, if that makes sense.

I kinda like the idea of shipping something to yourself if you can make it seem like a Tinker Bell gift! The Disney florist packages look amazing but I just can't get over the price tag, plus I dislike plushies

Garden Grocer is the way to go. You can order a case of water, soda, chips, dips, fruit, cheese and cracker, cereal and milk and adult beverages, which is nice.

My friend they use a car service with one stop. Which is important for them as they have some certain dietary needs for one of their kiddos.

We have other friends that mail a package with snacks, and have in the past brought a suitcase filled with snacks, and on the return trip it filled with souvenirs and outlet shopping trip bargains.

Is Garden Grocer cheaper than anything Amazon can offer(if you have prime)? Sorry, I've been thinking about this too, and wondering what the best option is.
