Dh and I are planning our honeymoon (about 5 years late! LOL) and will be going alone to WDW next year in early May. We are trying to decide between WL and Swan/Dolphin. If you were *honeymooning* which would you choose and why?

None of the monorail resorts truly appeals to either of us but I love the look/feel of WL and S/D though I've never stayed at either.

This is our 5 year anniversary and likely to be our only adults only trip in the next 16 or so years and I want to make the most of it!

I haven't stayed in any of those resorts; but I have to say that we LOVE the Epcot Resort Area! I think it would be especially nice to stay over there for an adults only trip. Walking to Epcot and MGM is the greatest! Plus you get the benefit of the night time activities at the Boardwalk--JellyRolls is super fun!:D

We stayed at WL for our honeymoon 7 years ago. We have never been in the SWAN before so can't compare. But we love the look of WL and think it's more romantic. When we checked in, dh told the lady that it's our honeymoon. When we got into our room, we found a card with congratulation, a bottle of champane (spelling???) and two glasses to celelbrate. We don't drink even that but I thought it's so sweet of them.

Since the themeing of the WL doesnt appeal to me much, and we were very impressed by our first stay at the Swan, Id say the Swan. The biggest plus there, especially for adults only, is the location. You are in walking distance from the clubs and bars at all the resorts in that area...not to mention Epcot & MGM.

I would stay at the SwanDolphin and walk over and have a romantic evening at the Boardwalk, like renting a surrey bike and going over on the bridge near Epcot and watching Illuminations.

You could swim in the Grotto Pool later in the evening.....that's a lot of fun.:smooth:

I think the Swan/Dolphin would be a nice for an annivesary, it's in a spectacular location and you'll have many dining and entertainment options being in an Epcot resort.

:D
I know your dilemma!
DH and I have planned a spur of the moment trip for adults only before our AP's run out. This was a big decision, as we haven't been on a trip alone without the kids in 10 years.
We have stayed at the WL before, and it is stunning ( and romantic!) but we love the Epcot area, but have never stayed in that area before. So, we decided that we will do 2 nights at the Dolphin, and then 2 nights at WL!
That way, we will be able to enjoy the Epcot/ Boardwalk areas for 2 evenings and the MK area for 2 evenings.
I'll let you know what I think when we return, and if that was a good plan.
We are going June 21 - 25, 2004.

Swan/Dolphin - the boardwalk is great. I just love walking around it at night. We are early birds and my husband and I would walk the boardwalk early in the morning alone while my children were still sleeping. Also, the grotto pool is great. The whole atmosphere in the area is so nice. ::MinnieMo
