Resort Monorail question

We are staying at the GF and have a breakfast ADR at Ohana at Poly. To take the monorail, it would be an almost complete loop to arrive at Poly. The time that I would be riding to get to breakfast will be just past opening time at MK so I am wondering if I am going to have a problem with completely full monorails stopping at the GF from the TTC on the way to MK. Do they hold out space on the resort monorails during peak times for riders from each monorail resort? I could see the whole thing filling up at TTC during busy times when the express line is too long.

Take this from the point of view of someone who has lived near Boston and experienced T after T (subway) go by packed like sardines and resorted to taking a taxi instead

I guess it would be possible. However, the only guests that can ride the resort monorail (especially in the morning) are staying on property or those with ADRs for the resort restaurants. So, there are very few boarding at the TTC.

Your other option is to take the boat from GF to the Polynesian. It is a direct route, no stops. The boat travels MK-GF-P-MK in a loop.

Most people at the TTC are going to be taking the express monorail, which makes no stops between the TTC and the MK. So, you can hop on the resort monorail..it should take about 20-25 minutes to complete the loop, or you could just walk back over to the Polynesian. There is a path that runs between the two resorts.

At TTC (and at MK) the monorail trains unload and load on opposite sides respectively and furthermore there are gates on the loading platform. It is a no-brainer to deny boarding at TTC to leave room on the train for resort riders downstream.

>>> T after T (go to thebsra dot org if needed)
A full train skipping a resort will catch the attention of the dispatcher very quickly.

Sometimes in the early AM, when crowds are light the resort monorail is the only one running. I have seen them hold off on running the express till 10am.

It's less than a 10 minute walk even at a very leisurely pace from the GF to the Poly.

It's a nice walk too!

PS: The monorail is never as packed as bad as the T, even at closing.

Thanks for all your replies. Both the boat and the walk sound nice. I may do the boat there and the walk back (after a big breakfast, I may need the extra exercise!). A couple of additional questions, if I may.

Can you wheel a stroller right onto the boat, or do you have to fold it up? It is going to be just me with a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old.

-and-

Is the walking path clearly marked? I was looking at aerial views of WDW (I can't wait to get there!) and I *think* I see it, but once on the ground, I don't know if I would be able to find it without signs pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks again

For the launch that goes MK-GF-Poly-MK, you'll need to fold up your stroller(s).

The path is very well marked. Simply follow the signs to the wedding chapel/health club, keep walking past both, and it will take you right to the PR.

Yep, those are the small boats that are not accessible, but they are georgeous boats.

I agree with walking the path...so pretty...but if for some reason the weather is not cooperating, try the launch. Enjoy the breakfast , it is so much fun!
