Resort Merchandise

The last time we were at Disney (Dec. 2010), a cast member mentioned to us that the resorts were bringing back specific resort merchandise such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc... Can anyone fill me in and let me know if they have done this, or if it's still the same across the board. Thanks.

We haven't been since '09 but I'd love to hear a big "yes!" to this question. WDW used to have such high-quality, unique merchandise and I'd love to see some of this return.

In August 2011/September 2011 when I was at WDW I didn't see any resort merchandise for sale at the Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club and Contemporary. The only resorts that were still selling resort merchandise was the Polynesian and Grand Floridian, however those items were old and I remember seeing them for sale on previous trips to WDW.

Hopefully when I am back there this coming December that will have changed, however I am having doubts about that.

ooh I really hope they do-this will be the only time in our lives we can justify the expense up moving up to a Moderate so it would be nice to have a tshirt to prove it.

We stayed at the Grand Floridian earlier this month and they did have resort merchandise. A PP said the merchandise was "old". Yes, I had seen it before, but that was on our two previous trips this past year. We got a great sweatshirt blanket with an outline of the GF on it that says "Dream Big Live Grand". They also had fleeces, polo shirts, hats, mugs and so on. Not a large selection, but it was resort specific.

In October 2011, I saw resort merchandise at,

Wilderness Lodge,Polynesian,Animal Kingdom lodge ( and more limited selection at Saratoga Springs) -I did not go to Grand Floridian ( but have a t-shirt from Jan 2011)

We stayed at the Animal Kindgom and Old Key West last month, and both of them had resort specific merchandise. Brant you it was not much, but they did have some.

We stayed at SSR in August 2011 and there was a limited selection of merchandise. The Poly also had some, and I think the Grand Floridian did too.

I noticed what seemed like a lot (compared to recent years) of resort merchandise at Old Key West last week. They had sweatshirts, t-shirts, coffee mugs, keychains and a couple of other items. They did not have a Christmas ornament which is what I like to collect from each resort we visit.

Just returned yesterday from 8 days at BCV. The Beach Club did not have resort merchandise, much to our dismay. BUT - the Boardwalk had just received a bunch of NEW and FUN stuff! It was at the store right off the lobby, not the bigger store on the actual Boardwalk. The CM said they are trying to roll it out to other resorts as well...

i saw two separate people wearing wilderness lodge apparel the 3rd week of october when i did two days at f&w. i don't know if they were new items or not tho.

At AKL this summer, I was able to pick up an AKL t-shirt.

I wonder if Disney got the message. I had noticed the absence of specific merchandise and read about it on the DIS quite a bit. I was so surprised to see the shirt, I did not hesitate to buy it.

I think the WL has had resort specific merchandise for the last two years. I'm glad more resorts are getting it. I wish they'd bring back the resort specific mugs. I miss those.

This has been a disappointment for me for years. They could get so much (more) $$$ out of me at the Poly if they had better resort merchandise. I think the GF has the best selection. Would love a Poly blanket.

That's great to hear because I would like to purchase some Boardwalk merchandise when I am staying there this December.

I just got back and visited many resort gift shops and I agree - there isn't much resort specific stuff these days.

CSR - Larry Dotson paintings
AKL - lots of t-shirts, magnets, mugs, paintings
Poly - paintings, a few t-shirts
WL - t-shirts, sleeping shirts
GF - didn't notice anything
POFQ - didn't notice anything
Contemporay -didn't notice anything

We just came back a few days ago, stayed at the BWI and we did see some merchandise in the upstairs gift shop, mostly DVC stuff and at the Poly they had a few things but nothing like they used to have
