Resort ID

Can you tell me what the resort ids are like. Are they plastic like a credit card or paper? If they are plastic, do they have or sell lanyards so that we can wear them around our neck? I am going to have smaller ones with me and I thought that would be a good way to help keep track of them.

The room keys are plastic. I bought a lanyard at Disney though so I can keep our room keys, APS and fast passes together. They have a little plastic zippered case to keep them in.

Great. Are they very expensive? Also, I know I can get an id for each person (the kids will love that) and I know that I can put charge privileges on the ones I want to, but what I would like to know is, instead of waiting to the end of the trip to pay for all the charges, can we add the money to the card we want each one to have. My kids are going to have Disney Dollars when we get there and I thought instead of trying to deal with all those, we could put them on the card. Sortoff like a prepay situation!

No there will have to be one credit card left for all room charging. They automatically gave me the kids id's (ages 6 and 8) without room charging privleges. You can go down and pay off anything before check out with DD but they won't let you leave DD just for the kids charging.

What I also meant to say is that you can leave cash,DD or whatever for room charging too, not just a credit card, but you cannot specify which cards have seperate amounts on them. There will be one total taken out of whatever you leave for room charging (unless you go down to the desk periodically and pay off the total) but one running total of all charges.

You might want to watch for some cheap lanyards at your local stores because the ones in WDW can be pretty expensive.

The one I bought in Disney was about $10 (I think) but it was a nice quality and the pouch is waterproof. I just put it away with all my other Disney things to repack this year so I don't feel like I wasted money. Also packed away water/fan bottles. BTW we only bought one lanyard and I carry everything for everybody. When DH needs something he just sticks it in his wallet which makes me nervous.

Thanks for all the help. My plan is to go July 10 - 15th and stay at POR. That is unless I can get a discount on the CR or WL. I would love to stay at WL but we have 5 which puts us in a jr. suite and out of my budget!! I am trying to find out about getting a "code" if possible which might help.

I have the same problem with th WL - family of five. My in-laws are coming to see my DH run the marathon (1st time) in January so we are going to try and book WL then - one of the kids can go in with them (take turns). Hopefully it will work out. POR is very nice too - beautiful landscaping and carriage rides. I did notice that the deluxe room at AKL is much cheaper than WL deluxe rooms. I wonder why?

Is that how everyone here identifies each other at the parks? I am amazed at how many people use the disboards. Is this the largest board on the internet?
