What is the current color of the resort ID cards? Are they finished with the blue 100 Years of Magic ones?

Thanks. ;)

I think they are still blue - but have something else on the cards themselve

I've heard that Tinkerbelle is now featured on the cards.

Yep Tink is on them now. They have a pink/purplish background.

Is it me or do the new Tinkerbell cards seem cheaper and more flimsy than the old cards?

We just came back, hope this helps,
PS. They are the same thickness as last years

I just held up an old one against a new one that I have right here. They do appear to be the same thickness- however the new ones seem more flexible than the old ones. Like they're made of a slightly more flexible plastic or something. Maybe this cuts down on breakage or something, I don't know.

The Tink resort cards are really nice, but I have to agree that they are more "flexible". My DH kept his card in his back pocket one night, and by the end of the evening, the edge was starting to bend upwards. We were able to flatten it out, or it might have caused some trouble slipping it into the turnstile slot.

I love my Tink card! :D I did not notice the difference in flexibility, but will check that out later.
Cali-D, I think *********** posted a picture of the card when it first came out earlier this year-around late Feb/early March perhaps?? Try search when it is working!

Yes, the resort ID has Tinkerbelle on it and is a lavender shade. I also found it to be "flimsier" than cards in the past. One of our cards after four nights' use had scratches all over it from sliding in and out of the lock -- never saw that on old cards. And DH's card got bent out of shape being in his back pocket. I guess Disney is saving $$ on card maker co.!

The cruiseline also uses the same ID cards.

Thank you! ;) Wonder how long they'll have them? We won't be down until January. :(

I think these cards will be around for at least two years. The change over to the new cards began in late February of this year. If you look, you will notice that they coordinate with the new cast member name badges.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the new Tink cards on my May trip. They are really cute!

OK, how far gone are we all that we're discussing the color and thickness of room keys!:D

On our last trip (June/July 03) we had the lilac/bluish Tinker Bell room keys at OKW and BCV but had tan Tinker Bell ones at the Polynesian.

Compared a tan Tinker Bell key with a blue 2000 key and they sure seem to have the same thickness and flexibility to me?

Woo Hoo, you must be a VIP. Or else, the Polynesian ran out of the regular card stock.

Tan/gold cards are VIP cards. Very rarely, a resort will run completely out of card stock and have to use their supply of VIP stock until the new cards come in.

You're right, I was told they were VIP cards. A manager came out to greet us too. I asked the gal checking me in why we were VIP (because trust me we're not in any usual sense of the word) and she shrugged and said maybe if we stayed there often? Well we do that!

Hey BCV23 I hope we can qualify for frequent visitor status too. We have been staying there every year for the last 20 with a few side trips to GF and OKW and 1 to POR. I did notice that you have been there several times however. It is such a nice resort. I have gotten all of my friends to go there at least once and everyone came back happy with the choice.

I was at the Polynesian only one time which was for my honeymoon back in 2001. The only complaint I had is we stayed late at the MK and the monorail was not running anymore back to the Polynesian; neither were the buses. We had to walk back from the transportation and ticket center. Normally this wouldn't be a probelm but it was Januray 2nd and it was like 40 degrees outside.

We complained to Guest Relations once we got back inside. The only thing they did was hand us a Transportation Guide (which is now a big joke between my DW and myself when we receive one). Needless to say we reported her the next morning.
