We are staying at saratoga but are trying out other resort hotels for both c/s and ts.

Do we have to pay to park in the hotel car parks if not staying there, but are staying on site?

:rotfl2: You have so many different questions this week we can't keep up with you, lol. I am certain, without doubt, that your trip is the best planned to date: YOu are going to arrive there like a Disney veteran ;)

There is no charge for parking at the resorts. I don't know if you have to show your KTTW cards though. If you are going from a park to another resort though it may, depending which one, be easier to use Disney transport - especially the monorail resorts.

You only pay if you do valet parking.

You have a 3 hour limit at the hotel parking, although I dont know how they deal with that:confused3

If you dont know you also get a paper pass which allows you access to all the parks (driving) without having to pay for the parking, which is a plus for stayingon site.:thumbsup2

Disney hotels will ask for Photo id when you go in. Your home resort will give the general parking pass that you need to keep with the car.

we just flashed out kttw everywhere, no one asked for anything else
tracy

I never tried this except at our own resort but did use photo id and never given a limited time to park.

(When going back to our hotel DH made it a challenge to see how far away from the security man he could be to wave the key out of the window and still get the gates to open!!)

They used to issue paper parking passes but not anymore so I can't see how they operate 3 hour limit anymore. We visit numerous hotels each trip, never told about any time limits. I can only think the 3 hours went out with the passes.

Do you just show your cards now then to get the free park passing?

yes you still get a paper pass from your resort so as to park at the parks. I think what Wayneg is referring to is the paper passes you used to get from the resorts when you visited. We only ever got these when staying offsite and visiting and the last time we received one was Xmas 2006 when we were at AKL to eat at Boma.

To visit resorts you just show photo ID & tell them you are visiting for a meal, they will let you thru.

when you say photo id, do you mean we have to drag our driving licence or passports around?

You'll have your driving licence on you if you're driving anyway. I always carry photo ID on me when in the US. I have been asked for it for cashing TCs and even got ID'd for a drink :woohoo:

If you are driving you should carry your DL, taken from Florida driving FAQ "it is a legal requirement to carry your FULL license with you in the car at all times when driving, then you could face legal consequences"
Same as in UK I believe, I was pulled over going to work one morning, a slight telling off for not having it with me, gave me 7? days to take to station but told me I should have it with me.

Eeyore, I was just thinking, and I don't know exactly what your plans are for resort CS, but just keep in mind the time it takes to travel, park, get your food, eat, get back to the car and then get to where you are heading. It can end up costing you a lot of time, although if carefully planned, it is a great opportunity to visit other resorts. Have you narrowed down your list of resort CS you want to try?

Can I also park at the Swan/Dolphin for free when I am staying at a Disney resort? Or does this only apply to Disney resorts?

No  I cannot believe been planning for this length of time and now rushing to get the cs list etc sorted.

I am going to have a look again tonight at previous threads on what people have kindly put and write a list of where i would like to go.

No, no free parking at all at Swan/Dolphin - they charge even for guests staying at the resort.

I am not driving - no fear :lmao: For the ones who are driving will just the photo part be enough or do they need to have the paper part as well?

OK I will tell the gang they need their photo part of the driving licence.

Must admit never keep it in the car in the UK, always worried about losing it, so keep it safe at home :rolleyes1
