Hi everyone - we're staying at the AKL for our honeymoon in November and as we will have already been in Kissimmee for two weeks before cramming in all the parks with our families I want to have some "take in the magic" days.

Is it possible to resort hop? I'd like to visit some of the other resorts, like maybe do the monorail and stop off at each hotel to look in their shops and take some photos...

Is this allowed? We visited AKL for breakfast last trip and I know we had to say why we were there before they let us in the car park...

Thanks

RJ

That won't be a problem. If you are a resort guest they will give you a parking pass and they will wave you through. If you are going to the monorail resorts and need to park then they will give you a 3 hour parking pass.

yes it is

We did this in April when we had a little extra time to kill. I was starting to plan our November trip and wanted to see the resorts we were interested in. We just asked the guard if it was okay to go in a look around a bit. Without exception, they were friendly and pleasant and showed us just where to park. There was no mention of a time limit at the resorts we visited.

We also wanted to see the outdoor Twister game at Pop Century as the father of a friend of ours had invented the game. They were really nice, showed us just where it was, we took photos and walked around the resort a bit.

I think looking at the resorts is a fun way to get to know the character of each one. They're all so different!

Have fun!

Hooray! Thanks everyone - and that outdoor twister looks a scream :0)

There may be a few resorts where you will get a time limit to park, like Boardwalk and Contemporary. That's because people have tried to sneak in to avoid the parking fee at the parks. You can always visit some places by walking out the International Gateway in EPCOT. In an hour or so, you can see BWI, YC/BC, and Swan/Dolphin.

To see GF, Poly, Contemp, and WL, you can get there from the monorail or ferry at MK. Maybe you could even plan a lunch at one that interests you. They are fun to look at, and think about staying there some day.

We did this on our last trip and plan to do it again on our Christmas trip to see the decorations. We are staying at the BCV so can see the YC, BC BW swan and dolphin easily. You could catch a bus from the AK to the BW and then look around the resorts there. We plan on taking the bus to the MK then getting on the monorail to the comtemporary, then the bus to the WL and back. Then back on the monorail to the Poly and GF then back to the MK and the bus back to the BC.

We walked around the AKL it is really cool to see all the animals, but I am not sure if I would want to stay at this one. We had dinner at the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian, this could be the next place we would stay, we were a little surprised with the monarail wait. The line was all the way back to the doors at times.

No one asked us any questions when we were walking around and if we asked where things were the CM were very helpful. At the AKL one of the CM's told us about the baby flamingo and to make sure we saw it.
