Hey there,

We just added days to our already long trip (we'll be there for almost three weeks plus driving days), in order to be at WDW on Halloween day :)

We're not planning to go in any parks (Disney, Universal or Seaworld) on that day, since it will be our arrival day, after a 22 hours drive ;)

We actually want to take the kids to different resorts to enjoy the Halloween activities (doing MNSSHP on Nov. 1st), mostly meet and greets with rare characters/rare costumes and trick-or-treating.

Now, after going through different threads, I still have a few questions :

1- Are you allowed to go at other resorts with our car if we don't stay there or have a ADR?

2- Does most activites are in areas where general public have access?

3- Anyone has a list of characters that met last year?

Thanks in advance!

  1. Some resorts (Epcot area resorts especially due to F&W and the monorail resorts) will not permit you to park unless you have a confirmed ADR or are a registered guest.
  2. Many activities are in the pool areas, which may not be accessible if you are not a guest at that resort.
  3. Here's a link to last year's scheduled events at all of the resorts. http://www.kennythepirate.com/2016/10/04/halloween-activities-for-various-walt-disney-world-resorts/

We stayed at the Grand Floridian over Halloween. They had a Halloween party out by the pool, and Minnie and Mickey were doing meet and greets. Minnie was wearing her witch costume, Mickey was a scarecrow.

I've never been during Halloween but I'd read the link to activity sheets. If activity isn't at the pool, I'd say it's ok to join. Are you staying at one of the Disney resorts? That's one thing I've been asked driving thru gate to another resort, if I was staying onsite. And checked my resort ID room card, nowadays Magic Band. They will also want photo ID.
You may have a difficult time getting into a deluxe resort without reservations due to very limited parking, and if it's F&W the Epcot resorts prob not either. But you wouldn't have problem with moderate and value resorts, they have lots of parking. And they will have fun activities too.

Thanks for all your answers disboard friends!!!

We are indeed staying onsite so it might help us get in some other resorts :)

I'll keep on looking as more information gets posted.

Where are you staying? Once you determine what activities you are interested in,if it's at an MK OR Epcot resort, consider taking WDW transportation since parking will be difficult. And it's easy to resort hop the MK resorts by monorail. Epcot resorts can all be easily walked to. Just take bus to DHS, then walk or boat to a resort.
Moderates, values, WL or AKL can all be driven too as parking isn't an issue.

Looks like many of the resorts have afternoon non-pool things to do.

I know firsthand that FW hasn't cared whether people were onsite guests or not. If you weren't *their* guest on Halloween (as in holding valid credentials for a cabin, campsite, or ADR), you were rerouted to park at the TTC.

Perfect!

Thanks for the details. This way, we won't have any surprises :)

Have a few plans ... the last few years there has been lots of local news etc talking about local residents converging on Disney resorts for a fun, safe, free Halloween (especially FW) .... and discussions about Disney doing more to restrict. This may impact you being able to drive to any resort. I imagine this will trickle down to onsite at some point if they find some resorts too popular.

Last year we actually decided to do California Grill (just flatbreads) and watch HalloWishes from up there. It was great! and way easier than getting to the resorts.
