Old Key West Resort is beautiful. I would love to stay there some time. Since I got there a little early. I head for the pool and find a seat. Did you know that the light house by the pool, was a sauna? I din't, what a great use of space. I had already picked up some cronch fritters for a little snack, seeing how I didn't eat lunch, and dinner has been moved up an hour. They were quite good. Not as good as the ones that they serve in Key West, but they were not that bad. Would have been niced if they hadn't left them to cook linger then they needed to.
While in the ladies room. I heard the funniest thing. There was a mother and daughter in there getting ready to head out to the pool, and they were taking about this and that. The two things that got me was 1) The towles. Mom had asked if they had any towels out my the pool, because she had left hers in the room. Daughter says yes, they had towles to rent. Mom was like, RENT! Then daughter corrected herself, says may be they are there for loan, just to use while at the pool. Mom, was well they better be, with all the money that we are spending, the least that they could do was let us use some towles for free. Then there was converstion 2) They were talking about dinner. Now they must have been part of a big group. So they were trying to think of some places off-property. Because on-property cost to much. So mom ask if the lady at the front desk had given them a map to the area. Daughter says that she thinks that it is only for the resort area, and that all the resturants on the map with be Disney restatants. Mom, was hoping that they would be able to get directions to a Ponderosa, a buffet type of place. Daughter was like that would be o.k. Then mom says, maybe we should try a place called Shoneys, because Shoneys is very special down here, it could be a really nice place to eat, they seem to like it a lot down here. This just made me smile. Here they were staying a not so cheap resort, but they were so worried about towles and dinner. I was saying to my self, if you are so worried about the money, maybe you should have stayed at a value resort. But that could just be me.
Mom finally showed up, after her meeting. (The reason we are really here.) We are having dinner at Olivia's Cafe. The food was really good. But there was a family there, that kinda ruined it for us. They had the three kids, that would cry a the littlest things. And then the son, was over by the gate, and the whole time that they were there, he keep opeing and closing the door on the gate. Very nerve racking. And then they complained about every little thing, to the point that they got there meal for free, they only had to pay for the beer. But we think that that was the plan all a long.
After dinner, we headed back to DTD to see the Disney movie "Miracle." What a GREAT movie. A must see! After the movie, we headed to Ghirardelli for some hot fudge sundays, and then it was back to the hotel for some much need rest.
***Day 3 - Blizzard Beach - Is coming.***
