I have never stayed onsite before so I had trouble deciding what resort to stay at so....I am staying 3 nights at FQ with dining plan,2 nights at AKL conceirge level(sunrise safari) 3 nights at BWI(possibly changing to Swan if rates go down, then 6 nights at Royal Pacific (possibly splitting it with Hard Rock,I haven't decided for sure yet)I am traveling alone so it won't be that difficult .The AKL reservation kind of dictated the short stay at FQ since I hear its easier to get on the Sunrise Safari during the week and I did want to stay at an Epcot resort,YC was soldout. So am I crazy?

Welcome to the Dis Kata :wave2: I don't know that I would call you "crazy", but that's too much moving around for me. Maybe if you're spending a lot of time at the resorts it's ok. Have fun :earsboy:

For me -- that is a lot of moving around. If you don't mind the packing and unpacking, the maybe it will be okay for you. But with that many moves, I think you would be totally living out a suitcase the entire time. Plus not to mention the time you would waste packing up your suitcase for the next move and the unpacking to the new resort -- all in the same day. Are you planning on hitting the parks at all?

I did do a three resort week once and my daughter absolutely hated it. We spent two nights at AKL -- three nights at Coronado with two nights at WL. Two different resorts wasn't too bad as I just packed what we would need for our first stay in one bag, but when we moved to the third, it was very time-consuming to figure out what we would need for that stay.

If it was just me -- I would do a two-resort stay, but three can make your visit less enjoyable. But then again this is only my own opinion. You may just enjoy packing and moving from resort to resort. :confused3

Good luck with your planning. :flower:

It's alot of moving for me too. But it is definatly a good way of seeing the resorts in one visit.
I'd recommend only one resort at UO - and that would be the Hard Rock. It's more money, but the rooms are soooo worth it! I've stayed at the RP twice, and because they are considered the 'value' resort onsite they were starting to show some wear. If you can afford it, stay one night at the Portofino (sp?). Make sure you don't have anything planned the next morning - the beds are to die for! (Down feather comforters, cozy mattresses and you almost need a step stool to get into it!)

We did it this last year 4 nights at Pop and 5 at All Star sports. It wasn't horrible but it did take time out of our day to pack up, move, check in and unpack.

I don't think I would do it again unless a weird circumstance occured

If you're crazy, that makes me crazy too, because I LOVE resort hopping! The last few trips I've taken, I've stayed at no less than 3 resorts each! The latest one, I did two nights at Hard Rock, three nights at POP, and two nights at AKL. I just love trying out all the resorts.

I think as long as you have a plan to make the moves efficient, it's not a big deal. (Although, I don't have children, so it's a lot easier for me to say that!) What I do is make sure that we have our souvenirs packed away as we buy them, and have one empty suitcase that we can just throw our laundry into.

I'm a terrible hotel hopper! I can't even say resort in this instance because I've never been to WDW! When I was working out our reservations I considered a split (ONE move, not several!) but decided I couldn't bother with re-packing me and the kids (not to mention the dining plan wouldn't have worked the whole time.)

I just love to completely unpack the first night. I bring along enough cheap molded plastic hangers (target, wal-mart, etc) to hang my nice blouses and skirts and dresses and I spend an hour steaming out wrinkles, etc from our clothes while the kids make plans for the next day. I have a great travel steamer I bought at Target and works on the clothes while they hang. I do it that once and not again (save for emergencies) for the rest of the trip.

I spray small cotton makeup removalr pads with my favorite home fragrance or perfume and stick them in ziplock baggies to open and use as sachets in the drawers during our stay. I love that settled feeling, even when we are away from home.

:wave2:

You are not crazy cause I have done it before...but not intentionally though.
HRH 2 nights~~RPR 2 nights~~CBR 3 nights~~CSR 1 night. It was a crazy trip...but we had a blast! It was just me and the children and we didn't rent a car, but we did use the taxi to get there fast and get our luggage with us when we check in. If we did, you can do it too. The only thing is that it did take some of the park hours away from us and also we didn't have a place to lie down to rest for our mid-day break.

Thanks for all your input,I greatly appreciated it since it is just me I don't think it will be so bad,I hear Disney does such a great job at tranferring your luggage I will just leave one hotel and go spend the day at a park and take a bus to the next hotel, although I want to get to AKL very early on checkin day to take full advantage of the conceirge floor and make sure I get a good room.I thought about trying to decide on just 2 Disney resorts but I got a great AAA package for FQ,I have to do AKL for the Sunrise Safari and I really want to try an Epcot Resort,I think if the Swan comes out with discounted rates in December I may just go with AKL and The Swan.I think I will just go with RPR my whole stay at Universal, and someone suggested The Portifino,I actually stayed there twice and was not impressed, the 1st time there was alot of red ants in the room,I hate bugs!!! I talked to management when I got back and she said they have alot of bugs in Florida, sorry thats unacceptable for a hotel at that rate she did make it up to me on the next visit with a great rate, room and gifts in the room, I personally still prefer RPR which I checked into after my 2nd Portifino stay, the Portfino will never see my money again but I may try the HRH because I can get a deluxe room for$183.00.Well thanks for letting me babble, like my AAA TA says these boards a great support group for me when I try and tell her there are lots of us who change our minds about what resort we want to stay at( frequently) :rotfl:

This Aug DS13 & I are staying at 3 different resorts (maybe it can be considered as 2?)
Aug 13-19 VWL - the 19th we check out of the villas and into the lodge for the 19-21
then Aug 21-27 we switch to the BCV

Starting Apr.13 we are staying 2 nights AKL, than 2 nights Poly and then 5 nights BWV. I love to try different resorts. I also pack light.

I love resort hopping, and WDW does do a great job of transfering your luggage. Plus, it's fun to see all the different resorts, and if you end up not liking one much, it's not a big deal, since you're going somewhere new in a day or two!
