Hello!

I am currently planning a DSW trip for October. I have looked at almost every single resort and STILL can not pick one! We both agree on Beach Club (it's a Romance trip) or AKL. BUt I'm worried about paying that much for a resort, I have checked multiple sites and looked at pictures but I can not decide.
We currently have agreed on these resorts as a possibility for the trip
Beach Club -> Our prefered due to the Epcot closeness and Fireworks viewing
Animal Kingdom Lodge w/Savanna view room
Pop Century
Coronado Springs
Saratoga Springs
Port Orleans or Caribbean

This is our first trip.
Any help would be appreciated! Pros and cons of them, transportation issues, anything that can help!

Thank You! :) :earsgirl:

Beach club is great location to both Epcot and HS. Pool is amazing as well.

AKL is truly a unique experience. Close to AK and has some amazing food options. It is peaceful, but it is out there and if you are planning on going to Epcot a lot you will have some travel time.

SSR- one of my favorites. For tons of reasons. Especially the proximity to DS, the peace, the beauty and the pools!

POR or POFQ- French Quarter is by far mine and DH's favorite romantic resort. The beauty, the food, the smallness, the cast members were all just so amazing. This is our go to resort when we are not staying on points

CB is under massive construction, we have not stayed here.

CS from what I hear is more for adults. I have never stayed here but I have visited the resort on my last trip, it wasn't for us. But they had good tacos at their quick service

Pop- fun, but I do not care for the value resort room set up. I need at least a queen bed in my room.

No matter what you chose know you will get quality no matter what because these are all Disney resorts. Figure out how much time you plan on spending at your resort. That is what I do, if I am hitting the parks heavy I save the money on my resort, if I am looking for some R&R I go with one of my DVC Villas or POFQ.

We love the Beach Club resort so much that we bought DVC to be able to stay there each trip. The resort has recently been refurbished. The location is wonderful with walking access to 2 parks. The pool is the best on property. But I don't know what "Fireworks viewing" you are describing. It does not have prime fireworks viewing like the Poly does. Illumination is way more than a fireworks show. It is fire, water, music, lasers and some fireworks and is best seen around the lake in Epcot.

Animal Kingdom Lodge w/Savanna view room I have not stayed here, but unlike many on the boards AKL is not my favorite. It seems dark to me. But having the savannahs and animal views from your balconey is truly unique. And the restaurants are top notch.

Pop Century I do not want double beds, so I would not stay here. I want at least a Queen size bed

Coronado Springs I think it looks lovely. It is often referred to as "Deluxe Light". It is a Convention Hotel and as such has a few more amenities than the usual Mod including a spa. It is undergoing major refurb work and I would not choose it now for that reason

Saratoga Springs I love the location near Disney Springs. If you are choosing a DVC property, in a studio you will have a small kitchenette and in any larger unit you will have a full kitchena and a washer and dryer. In the studio you will only have 1 real bed (a Queen) and a pull out sleeper sofa. I think for a couple only this is a nice arrangement. The foom feels like it has extra living space with a sofa rather than a second bed.

Port Orleans or Caribbean Port Orleans is a lovely - although sprawling resort. It would be a nice resort. It has a good Food Court as well.
Stay away from Caribbean Beach for the next 2 years. It is about to embark on a MAJOR construction project. The shops and restaurants are going to be closed.

This is our first trip.

We're doing Beach Club with an additional 1 night stay at AKL in October. BC is PEREFCT for the location, pool, atmosphere, etc. You will be spoiled as your first stay. I highly recommend it!

Keep your eye out for discounts though. You can find some good deals if you really try. Hit up travel agents (a google search for specifically disney agents will give your several good results), they often have very good deals. Or keep searching for disney's offers. October has become popular though, so I wouldn't wait too long to book.

If Epcot is a priority then I would spend at least a few nights at BC/BW. There is absolutely nothing like the quick walk back to your room.

Particularly for a couples trip, I would pick Beach Club. You will be within walking access of both EP and DHS and TONS of restaurants and lounges. You can go to the Boardwalk for the entertainment at night. There is just SO much to do there! Plus the pool is awesome. AKL is beautiful, but it's quite remote and your room will be smaller and there definitely is not as much going on there.

For a romance trip, I would take all of the other resorts you've listed off the table except POR if you want to save some money. POR is lovely and there is a boat to DS. If you can afford it, I would just go with BC.

If you can swing the Beach Club, go for it! The Epcot resorts area is beautiful, the walk to Epcot is so nice, and I like the boats to DHS. As others have said, you have the Boardwalk a short walk away, lots of nice, adult-friendly dining options including at Swan/Dolphin (BlueZoo is delicious and would be a good "date" choice). If Money Were No Object, I'd be back at the BC in a flash.

I'm actually not a fan of the BC, but the location and access to EPCOT and, specifically, the F&W Festival in October can't be beat. Personally, I prefer the Boardwalk. I love, love, love AKL and would not hesitate at all to stay there--very good bus service not shared with other resorts and if u request a room away from the lobby, it should be nice and quiet. I also really liked CS and would stay there as well -- just request Cabanas or Ranchos since Casitas can have the Conference crowd. I haven't stayed at PO French Quarter, but have heard its great for couples. I haven't stayed at POP, but don't think I would consider it for a quiet, romantic experience. I also haven't stayed at CB, but like others have said, under construction could have issues. Good luck and I'm sure you'll have fun, fun, fun!!!

I would definitely pick the BC. We enjoy the BC and the location. AK is nice but you will be traveling on a bus to the other parks. With the BC you walk to EPCOT - boat or walk to HS - also walk around to the Boardwalk for nighttime activities. We love the EPCOT area.

I would pick BC for the location alone. Plus, it's a wonderful resort. We really enjoyed our time there.

Aaah! You are planning my dream trip! My top Disney Bucket List item is an adult only stay at Beach Club during Food and Wine. I haven't stayed there (YET!) but cannot wait. DS starts college this fall and DD has 3 more years of high school so hopefully it won't be long. :)

Have you really ruled out the other Epcot deluxe resorts? We honeymooned at BWI and have stayed at YC, will be there in July again. We love the whole boardwalk/Epcot area with and without kids. Just wondering if you like the area, and with food and wine it's wonderfully convenient. Maybe if no deals at BC, you can get some at BWI or YC?

Dh and I have also stayed at POR and CB pre-kids and enjoyed them both.

I'm betting wherever you end up with the right frame of mind romance will be there.

Beach Club or AKL, all the way. Coronado Springs is not even remotely comparable. AKL has the best on-site restaurants!

Another vote for Beach Club. You just cannot beat walking to Epcot! The pool is also amazing, and we liked being able to take the boat to DHS.

Beach Club - this is where i'd stay. Amazing location and the resort is gorgeous.
AKL is very nice too, so is Coronado Springs, POR and Carribean Beach.
I dont care for Saratoga Springs. And as much as I love pop, there's nothing romantic about it. Plus they have two double beds. Which isnt ideal, unless you really want to be super close at night (or sleep on separate beds lol).
