Me and DD4 are booked into CBR with FREE DINING Sept.21-24. I just decided to add another nite. Try as I might, Disney will not let me add a day to my existing reservation.

Fortunately, the summer rate special is here. Problem is, I can only get CSR at the special summer rate of $104. If I want to stay at CBR it is rack rate.

Question: Would you cough up the funds for the convenience of checking into your home resort (even though they can't guarantee that I won't have to move the next day because it will actually be 2 separate reservations), or would you pocket the savings and stay at CSR one nite and CBR the next.

I haven't stayed at either resort. Although it would be a hassle changing resorts there may be some benefit to seeing another property.

The next morning we will be checking out right away before starting our day at the Parks.

Any thoughts???
JUST TO THROW ANOTHER VARIABLE INTO THE MIX, I CAN NOW GET WILDERNESS LODGE FOR $185 -JUST $20 MORE THAN CBR. OBVIOUSLY MORE COMPELLING REASON TO SWITCH IF YOU CAN GET AN UPGRADE FOR CLOSE TO THE SAME RATE. THOUGHTS????

Me, personally, I would stay at the CBR. We are raring to go to the parks our first full day and I wouldn't the hassle of getting from one resort to another. Even if you had to move from one room to another at the CBR, you'd still be at your "home resort".

I would for convenience alone stay with CBR. The hassle of moving on your first full day at the parks - not worth the savings, IMO!

Why are you adding the additional night? Will you have a car?

If its just a place to sleep ie. travel plans have changed I would actually stay off site for less money or at a Value, just for the night. If I had a car I'd pack an overnight bag just for the one night and leave the other stuff packed (either in the car or move inside the room if you feel that's safer). You can do something non Disney that day (Universal City Walk is free, fun and free parking at night).

Lake Buena Vista hotels Sept 20-21st online search rates
Grosnevor $93
Holiday Inn Sun Spree $90
Comfort Inn $48
SPM Blue Tree resort (condo) $79

I know its not the Disney question you posed, but it is an option. I did this a few years ago when we were booked at Marriott VC villa in Orlando. Spent under $60 for a room the night before our check in, just ate then slept so no issue. Got spoiled once we were at the resort! Actually come to think of it my mother did the same the next time we booked the resort. She stayed at a Marriott they picked her up at the airport and brought her to the VC the next day. I brought the rental car with me that day. She used reward pts for her night, do you have enough point for a one night stay somewhere? Just think of what else you could do at Disney with $100-200 in your pocket.

You can then go to CBR, check in even though your room won't be ready and head to the parks.
