Hello everyone!

We are leaving in less than 2 weeks for our first trip staying on property and having the dining plan. Our first night we plan to eat at the food court at All Star Sports. We will have the mugs so I was wondering if it is possible to sub out the drink including in the meal for a snack or a bottled beverage that we could save for later. I assume this comes up a lot, but I haven't found a definitive answer.

Thanks!

You can get a bottle drink with your meal. We always get a bottle of something to keep in the room or take to the park with us. You also get a desert with the meal plan which you can use for something to either eat or keep in the room for a snack. A sundae is also considered a desert but you don't have to get it with your meal tell them at the register you want it after your meal and they will mark your receipt. I believe you can also sub the drink for a snack.

I think with the new guidelines, drinks at ANY CS can be subbed with anything considered a snack - as long as it is at the same location.

I always subbed mine for a bottle of water. One trip I came home with a half dozen bottles of coconut water!

Yes we would do that same thing and had plenty of bottled waters for the room and parks!

DDP

Breakfast: • One (1) Entrée • One (1) Nonalcoholic Beverage -or- • One (1) Full Buffet** or Family-Style Meal

OP:
We always grabbed something for our "drink" - usually we use a couple for bottles of orange juice and a couple for cups of cut fruit. We usually eat breakfast in room, so these added to our yogurt and muffins or bagels made a great filling meal.

Sorry for the mis-information, I forgot they changed the QS meal plan for this year.

Thanks for asking the question! I hadn't even thought about the mug and the drink included. I like the idea of getting a bottle of water or juice - water especially for the parks. I'm not normally a bottled water girl, but in Orlando? I'm a bottled water girl.

Not quite any. Some QS locations don't allow it (cough cough BOG cough). But your resort food court is cool.

I must have made a mistake then. I haven't used done this since the change since my last visit was on DxDDP. I could have sworn I was reading reports of people saying they were able to do swaps, even when preordering.

We often just got a bottle of Water or Orange Juice to either take with us or put in the fridge in the room (if you have one). Pretty sure you can get any bottled , non-alcoholic drink at the QS. (Remember you can use your resort mug at ANY resort if you are going elsewhere for a resort QS)

I have read one or two reports that it was allowed, but I think more often than not, it's a no. We were denied last August but we were able to make the substitution the year before that.
