Is there a list anywhere of which good neighbour hotels charge resort fees?

I tried doing a bit of a search, but nothing regarding a list, or anything other than one or two specific hotels and one or two generic mentions, comes up.

Thanks

Pretty much all of the good neighbor hotels charge one or more of these fees:
  • Resort Fee (Some charge per person, others per room)
  • WiFi Fee
  • Parking Fee

Agreed. The Candy Cane is one of the few that doesn't gouge you with those extra fees.

Are they actually a good neighbor hotel though?

Not sure but Disney is not a good neighbor to them by building the Eastern Gateway project. That will decimate their business by doubling the short walk to the front gate.

Actually Disney was always planning on leaving a couple of security booths near Harbor to eliminate that problem, not sure why Disney hasn't done more to point that part out. Basically they might get moved closer to Harbor, but still would allow park access to be as easy as it is now.

The original post specifically was asking about good neighbor hotels, which is why I asked if they were, to my knowledge all of the ones that are charges one or more of said fees.

I can find the parking fees on the websites, but not the resort fees. Hotels seem to hide those a bit more.

Thanks!

There are very, very few GNHs with resort fees. Lots have parking fees, but actual resort fees are rare. Desert Inn has one that I know of.

Yes, they are.

The fees on the larger chain hotels are pretty easy to locate. The independents are harder to locate.

They are there, you just have to look. For example, Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites, when the rates come up there is a little link that says "Rate Details". Click on it, you will see that they are going to charge you $6 resort fee, 15% tax, 2% Tourism fee (most hotels simple list 17% tax, they try to make it look less by splitting this) and parking is $11 a day.

The Hilton Anaheim, you will pay the 17% tax and a $1.76 resort fee. Parking is $16.

Now, if you book a little further out (Orange) at the DoubleTree (Chapman at I-5). You avoid the resort fee, and the tax is 10.4%. On $100, that is a $7 a day savings + resort fee. (This is my brother's fav hotel in the area.)

Desert Inn and Suites is not on Disney's list of GNH. They list themselves as one, but Disney doesn't.

Now I am thinking of making a spreadsheet just to enter them. Portifino has a $16 resort fee!

Desert Palms has a $9 resort fee.

Grand Legacy and Castle Inn don't appear to have a resort fee.

Desert Inn is a GNH-- there are a couple that don't have a deal in place where they are advertised or booked by Disney directly; the Desert Inn is one of those.

Are you sure about Desert Palms? I stayed there just a few months back. I prepaid for my stay via a third-party site, and don't recall any extraneous charges on my bill at checkout.

To my knowledge, the only ones charging a resort fee of the ~50 GNHs are Desert Inn, Red Lion, Quality Inn, BWP Anaheim Inn, BWP Pavilions, and the Portofino.

Okay, so around 10%. I probably overstated when I said 'very, very few.' I thought there were only two or there until I started researching. I retract that. :D

And correct me if I'm wrong (which I often am)-- there are no resort fees when booked as part of a Disney package, are there? That's a stipulation of being a GNH, IIRC. I seem to remember running across that somewhere.

I think there are multiple "resort" fees. A $25ish fee for a Disney resort hotel, and a seperate "Anaheim resort" fee for non Disney hotels. Because even when I stay for the convention center I still get reemed for resort fees. Its like they are doing me a favor by graciously allowing me to spend money in their city.

There aren't any resort fees at the Disney-owned hotels.

About 8 years ago or so, there used to be resort fees at the DLR hotels. It was something like $20 and covered parking for 2 cars and internet. They did away with it though.

I stay frequently at the Hilton at the convention center. The "resort fee" is $1.76. I didn't check out the Marriott.

You could be correct about GNH packages not allowing resort fees. But if you book directly there are fees.
