Does anyone know of a website that lists up to date resort fees for the different hotels? Sometimes you really have to dig to find the info on the hotel's website and a good list would be helpful.

While I'm asking, does anyone here know if the Swan and Dolphin charge anything extra? I guess that they're sort of offsite in some ways. I'll go check that now but just in case I miss it....

Swalphin charges $14/day resort fee plus $12/day parking if you have a car.

When I checked the Wyndam Bonnet Creek (hotel) it was $16 resort fee + $13 self park per day. I had to call on that one since I coud nt see it posted on their site. We decided to do the tims share points through vacation upgrades since there are no extra fees once you got there.

Just to clarify, this applies to the Wyndham Grand HOTEL only -- not to the timeshare portion which is about 80% of the Wyndham rooms at BC.

The HOTEL charges the fees reported PLUS tax of about 11.5% (or more) on the room rate. If you rent a timeshare villa from an owner -- NOT Wyndahm -- you pay zero extra.

Oy, this can get expensive. The Hyatt Grand Cypress apparently charges $22 resort fee plus $11 for parking per night!

I picked the caribe royal because it has no fees:thumbsup2. It really does ad up

Seems like the Resort Fee in the Orlando area is used to keep the advertised room rate lower. Most times Resort Fees are mandatory, and the hotels justify them by providing parking, pool & towels. Always do your due diligence when booking a room to know the total cost.

This website may help, not sure how complete or accurate it is. http://www.resortfees.com/florida/orlando/

Thanks for posting that link Tiggersbuddy. It shows the Nick hotel at $25!

It's definitely a good idea to inquire into these fees.

A good rule of thumb in Orlando for resort fees is $25/day (and that may not include parking for some resorts). Often times, when asked with a smile, resort fees can be waived.

You really need to go to the website of the hotel and look carefully. Sometimes search for resort fee. Do a test booking and see what's disclosed. Resort fees in Orlando vary widely. A few resorts don't charge one and some are over $20. I'd agree with the PP and go with an "guesstimate" of $20 only if I was bidding on an Orlando resort on Priceline. otherwise I'd take the time to check the hotel's website.

You need to find out how much the hotel charges as a resort fee and what it includes. A resort fee which includes internet access might see reasonable, to a guest who is going to use the internet, if the competing hotel doesn't have a resort fee but charges for internet access for example. There are some hotels which include park transportation as part of the services offered by the resort fee. Again people using that transportation might think the resort fee is reasonable if the alternate hotel has a lower resort fee but charges for park transportation.

I'll give you another reason for checking, and relying on information listed in a post or a $20 rule of thumb. Some hotels may add, or increase, a resort fee from the time you booked to the time of your stay. Knowing the resort fee at the time you booked is information you'll need if the hotel wants to charge you the higher rate.
