Just returned from a 14 nite stay at the music, It was a very delightful trip, really enjoyed our stay. great time for Disney, light crowds, mostly 10 to 15 min waits for rides. Just to inform everyone and I would like to say that the resort drink cup policy is not enforced very well. The cups are suppose to be used only during the stay in which they are purchased, not everyone follows that rule and no one enforces it, I seen all colors of cups from earlier years being used, even seen some of the short fat early resort cups that just said ALLSTARS on them and a few that said EPCOT, these cups haven't been sold for many years. If Disney gets the RIFD chips working like there suppose to, there is going to be ALOT Of upset people, that bring back their old cups. Granted the cups are costly, $16.00 per and if you purchase 4 there is a big sticker shock, as long as no one says anything about using an old cup, people will bring back old ones to use, I even seen people using travel mugs you can buy a walmart and meijers. Is this wrong, no one says. :cool1:

When we were at Poly & WL over Christmas, we saw a TON of people using older mugs. We did not notice any non-WDW mugs (no Walmart type mugs), but we saw alot of people with the old WL specific mugs at WL & the old Poly specific mugs at Poly. We also saw some mugs that they sold during YOAMD. CM did not seem to care at all.

We did not bother buying mugs because we were staying CL, so it would be a total waste for us to buy beverages & also we were disappointed that the mugs they were selling were the exact same as the ones we bought during our summer trip.

At home, we own a CBR mug that I purchased in 1995-ish. I could swear when I bought it, they were advertising free refills for life, but I'm not 100% positive. I've never brought it with me on any current trips because we have not stayed at CBR in a while. When we were there, in 2007 or 2008, we wanted a YOAMD mug so we purchased that one instead.

Well this is why they are trying RFID chipped cups only good for your stay.

As with some pilot programs, they may be tweaking things before they try another test. I'm hopeful that the RFID system is successfully implemented.
