Hi all and thanks for all the great info posted here.

I'll be in the Disney area for a conference and would like to try a restaurant I've never been to.

Any suggestions for a single traveler? I prefer one of the resorts as I won't be able to attend the parks.

Don't forget, I'll be alone.

Thanks in advance!

O'hana ( Polynesian) seems to be a great choice for alot of people. You take a bus to the MK and then walk up the walkway and take the monorail to that ......Chef Mickeys (Contemporary) is a great buffet for single people traveling alone and also for anyone....you take the monorail too for that one..
What resort are you staying in?

here is a listing of all the restaurants....

Thanks!

I'm actually staying at the resort where the conference is behind held (Ginn Reunion Resort in Reunion, FL).

I'll be driving in to visit a Disney resort for dinner.

When I'm alone I like the Flying Fish and Jiko. You can sit at the chef's station and watch them cook. The chefs are very interesting and at Jiko they often have time to really talk to you.

If you enjoy learning there are seats that overlook the open kitchen. That is entertainment for some - like me - and the is great too.

I'l agree with Jiko - as others have said, you can sit at the kitchen bar, and the food is wonderful. Then you can walk around the resort, see the animals, etc.

My other thought was Kona Cafe, at the Poly. Great food, and then you can walk down to the beach to watch Wishes fireworks from MK.

I agree with both Jiko and Kona Cafe, they would be my choices. Jiko is my very favorite restaurant at WDW. It is wonderful, the food is delicious and the staff is accomodating.
I thought Kona Cafe was wonderful too. I like the location and the fact that you could wander down to the beach and catch a view of Wishes from there.
Have a wonderful dinner.

My family and I love Kona. The food is very good. And like the previous poster said, take a walk outside to the beach and watch the fireworks.

Olivia's at OKW is also a nice little restaurant. And don't forget the Turf Club at SSR.

California Grill (Contemporary) - You could eat at the bar which would be nice for a solo traveler. Then you could watch Wishes! from the observatory.

Artist Pointe (WL) - Small more adult orientated would be great for a solo traveler and the WL is gorgeous!

Beaches 'n Creme - Fun little soda shop (great burgers/ice cream) with a counter that's fun to watch the CM's make the ice cream treats.

Jiko's - Can sit at the bar here too. And the AKL is one of my faves to walk around in the evening (great gift shop too).

I first thought about the more "adult" menus too.
Artist Point, California Grill, Jiko.
Would love to eat at any of these.
