What resort restaurant would you suggest for our first night at Disney? We will not be going into any of the parks on our check in day. We will be on the DDP and want to use ony one TS credit. I have 3 kids, ages 17, 14 , and 7. I guess DTD could be a consideration since we need to go there to activate our military tickets. Thanks so much.

We like to go to Spoodles on our first night, and then walk around the BW area to check out the entertainment.

I'm not sure where you are staying, but on our first night when we don't do much of anything we go eat at AKL. Since you want to do 1 TS credit, I'd do Boma for dinner. We do this because AKL has some great food, but unless you are staying there, it takes awhile to get to the resort from other places in the complex. Eating there on the first night guarantees a great meal and not having to spend an hour in transportation later on in the trip when you'd rather be at the parks.

Have fun!

We are going to hit T-Rex at DTD on our first night. I will need one of those cotton candy martini's after the long drive to WDW from South MS.

We're trying Ohanas our first night. It seems like a fun way to kick off a vacation, plus I hear that it can take a while, so since we have no plans our first night, we won't be in any rush to get out!

We are trying out Kona Cafe. The menu look delicious and can't wait to try the Kona Kone.

We went to Kona Cafe on our first night and it was great because we also got to watch Wishes from the Poly beach! It was a nice way to start off our vacation without going to a park.

We're going to Kona on our first night in March. I can't wait! It's sooooo good!

we are going to whispering canyon cafe...i figure with all the antics it will get everyone going and geared up for the next day!

We always do Chef Mickeys on our first night. Gets us into vacation mode right away!

My plan is to visit AK for the last few hours of the day and then head over to AKL for Boma. I'd like to get one ride on EE and Dinosaur and maybe see the Bug movie. I've never tried Boma or seen the lodge, so I'm psyched! I won't do much sit down TS since I'm solo, but that looks so interesting. Then, I may take the bus to DTD and ride the boat back to POFQ. I'll stay flexible though, and if I'm too tired, I'll just skip that day of a ticket since it only cost like $3!

If you plan on doing a character meal, I would do Chef Mickey's. Otherwise, Boma is fantastic, and you can spend a bit of time before your meal looking at the animals on the savanna, and maybe talking to one of the cast members from Africa who will tell you all about the animals you see.

It's our tradition to do Boma our first night. After a long travel day, we are always starving and the food at Boma is very good and it's plentiful!!!

We have two restaurants we like to choose from on the first night of our trip. If we want to really get into the "Disney spirit" we head over to Chef Mickey's. We have never had a bad experience there. Plus it gets us pumped up for the next morning. If we are looking to just relax and enjoy the resort we like to stop over at Boma's. For our family Boma's is one of those restaurants we have to go to every trip.

Good luck to you!

Chef Mickey's. That is always our first stop. It gets the kids so excited for the next day. It really starts our trip off right! Great excitement and you get to see all the characters. Love it. Enjoy your trip.

Our tradition is Ohana's. After dinner we shop around in the stores and art gallery, then we go down to the beach and watch the electric water parade, and then we watch the MK fireworks. Its a full night and our favorite way to start.
