Our upcoming August trip will be our first staying onsite in many years and the first not renting a car. Silly question, but what is the best way to get from our resort (Coronado Springs) to AKL or GF for dinner? Do we have to go to a park and then hop on that resort bus? If that's the best way, how much time should we give ourselves? Not sure if this will make a difference, but we'll be taking an afternoon break, then going to dinner before going back to the parks, so it'll be 5:00/5:30ish. Thanks for your help!!

A cab/Uber is the best way to get from resort to resort, but there's a cost involved, of course. If you're just planning on using Disney transportation, which from CSR will be bus only, then you'll have to go to a park, then transfer to the resort your reservation is at from there. Allow an hour to an hour and a half. Generally doesn't take that long...but it can.

I agree that taking a cab or uber may be the most efficient way to go resort to resort. I dont mind using Disney Transportation, but it does take time. WE tend to take a cab and save the time. If we use the bus to get to dinner, we generally take a cab back.

Me too. I just figure cab money into my trip budget.

OP--in making your decision how to get to your ADRs keep in mind Disney recommends you allow 90 minutes using their transportation. So if your ADR is at 5:00 they suggest you be at your first bus stop/boat/monorail stop by 3:30. Most times it is overkill, but sometimes you run into snarls that slow you down.

We just add it into our spending as well. We learned the value of that $12 ride back to the resort one night after dinner at Cape May Cafe. My DSIL wanted to sty and check out the Boardwalk at night, and DD and I wanted to take the little one back to the resort. SHe was so tired! Wait for a bus or ask for a cab? 12 dollars and a few minutes later we were back "home" and DGD was happily in her Jammie's. Worth every penny.

When we first started going it was always Disney transportation... Now we tend to grab a cab. Our last trip I looked at what times we might need a cab, and factored that into our budget vs a car rental. Taking the cabs ended up costing less in the end. I've never done Uber, but Mears has run about $20 one way.

I'm with the others. Use uber. Average cost for the trip is $5 - $7 (much cheaper than a cab). We do this ALL of the time now, even using it to get to the parks. We spend, maybe, an extra $10 - $15 per day doing this which is well worth it when I consider how much time it saves us.

We too always budget a few cab/uber resort to resort trips during our budgeting process. Doing it this way there is no real hardship. Also even doing that is cheaper than a rental car.

Sandy and I do this all the time. We STARTED with WDW transportaion (bus). But the multiple hops ended up taking longer than dinner :).

These days? We grab a cab.
