Resort Dilemma..........Thoughts Please

So the fam has decided on a Pre Christmas Trip(Dec. 16-23) this year for their "summer vacay". So we'll be doing summer vacay this year in December. We currently have a studio booked at AKL-Jambo which we consider our home resort even though we always rent DVC points. We ALWAYS stay here. But since we are going near Christmas and that is insane crowd time, I have thought about switching our ressie over to the Poly at the 7 month mark if there's availability. Besides it being a monorail resort, which I've always wanted to stay at one, the studio has the pull down murphy bed which gives another bed. This is probably the biggest reason since the kids are now teens. It just gives a 3rd bed option and we don't have to deal with whose sleeping with who. My concern is that the Poly just want feel the same since it is multiple buildings as opposed to the one large building at AKL. I've seen pictures of the lobby tree at AKL and compared to the limited decor out at Poly I'm afraid that the Poly will feel less Christmassy. Thoughts? And TIA!!

Is the Murphy bed a regular-sized twin bed that pulls from the wall or is it like the back of a bench in the room a la CBR or POR. If the latter, know that it is NOT a regular-sized twin bed and is designed really for a small child. Unless your teens are tiny, I don't think they'd be comfortable on it.

No clue on how they relate to CBR or POR. I have read comments saying that someone under 5'8 should be able to sleep comfortable on it. Not sure about weight restrictions either.

EDITED TO ADD
Just watched a video of the POR murphy and it is is the same set up. UGHHHH

I just checked pictures and it looks very much like the ones at POR and CBR (just not the back of a bench)... I would be shocked if someone 5ft 8 is comfortable on that unless they sleep curled up.

I have slept on the poly pull down bed, as has my 69 year old mother. We are both normal sized, about 5'6". I would not put much of a taller person or a heavier person on it. It would not be very comfortable as it is just a thin mattress on a wooden base. Not a real bed.

As for the concerns as to switching from jambo house to the poly at Christmas, I can totally understand. We stayed jambo house club level in early January of 2016 and a poly studio in December of 2016. We prefer the studio set up of the poly, but the lobby and Christmas music at jambo house is hard to beat.

We are dvc members and booked the poly studio at exactly 7 months at 8:00 am. I was able to grab a poly studio for December 14-19, 2016 at the 7 month mark and they were gone within minutes.

If you're renting DVC points for this stay, you should first check to see whether your rental agreement permits changes. Most don't. If it does, talk to the owner you're renting from and make sure they'd be willing to attempt to make this change for you.

The other issue is that the chances of getting a Poly reservation for the week before Christmas at 7 months out are extremely slim. December is the most popular month of the year for DVC bookings, and most owners are aware of this and make their reservations 11 months out. Unless your DVC owner calls or is on the website the minute the 7 month booking window is open, your chances of getting what you want are not good.

There's also a risk to changing a DVC reservation for an extremely busy time. The owner will have to cancel the AKV reservation, then book the Poly reservation, and it's possible in those few minutes for both to be snapped up by others. In other words, the Poly reservation gets taken while the owner is cancelling AKV, and when the owner goes back to re-book AKV, that's booked up too, leaving you with no reservation at all. It happens, I've seen numerous reports of this over the years.
