I am planning 1 night/2 Days at WDW This year with my 2 kids and my DW. We are driving from Miami, so we will have our own car.

At first I figured, I would save money and go with the All-Star Movies for $46, which I never thought I would stay there because I dont like Motels and that is what The ASMo is basically.

Now Im thinking if that is a good idea? I can get the FW Cabin for $120 or a room in the tower of the Contemporary for about $180.

Am I crazy for wanting to spend 3, 4 or even 5 times the price for only 1 night? Or since it is only 1 night and I will have my car, should I go with the cheapest room.

I figured I could ask the people on the Disboards and get some GOOD Input

Please let me know your suggestions.

I think it depends in part on what you like and how you all sleep. We prefer to stay in a suite-type accomodation offsite where our daughter has her own room. That way my wife and I can stay up after DD is asleep.

However, if we were just going for one nite, I think the All Star for $46 is a great deal and I'd certainly consider that. The only thing that would make the Contemp worth considering is the monorail access.

The FW cabin would be nice, but it does take a bit longer to get around from there. Since you'll only be there for 2 days, I'd vote for the more convenient location.

So of the onsite options, I think All Star is a great deal. Of course, you could stay very close by offsite for even less if you really want to save money, but that's a whole other discussion.

Do you want room service and things like that? Sounds like a really good deal to me to stay at the Allstars. For one night, I doubt you will be hanging out in your room or at the resort much.

Well I've decided (so far) to go to the contemporary tower room for $180, I feel the time I will be saving since I will be so close, will be worth it. I also feel that the the FW cabins, are just too out of the way for a 1 or 2 day trip, maybe for a longer stay.

I hope Im not making the wrong decision????

One thing you didn't mention is what your plans are for the 2 days. If you want to do MK, then being able to hop on the monorail or walk over is nice from the Contemp. For the other parks, its probably quicker to drive since you'll have your own car. So whether or not the Contemp is "closer" depends on your destination once you are on property.

Hi !
Time is very valuable which can't be stopped.
The age of your child always ends up as the priority in scheduling trips in the WDW Complex.
Ask your children simple questions out of the blue as to what they want to see and do at WDW and schedule.
Mine threw me a curve when they wanted to see "BEAR in the Big Blue House" at MGM ( limited show times)and Go on Safari plus Dinoland at AK, and "Honey I shunk the Family" at Epcot.
Try this and other websites for show times. Lion King Stage show is in AK yet the old Lion King on Stage is now the new Mickey's Philharmonic.(i think thats the name).
I had to put all the scheduled show times on a spreadsheet of all the attractions the KIDS wanted to see. Oh! I forgot "Fantasmic" at MGM.

A bonus by scheduling you can make a res for a character break/dinner while touring a theme park and pick up priority seating for "Fantasmic" and etc. We like "MaMa's" at MGM.

If sleeping all in one room is a problem ask for ajoinig rooms at The Allstars Resort which is cheaper than the Contemporary Tower.
If you decide on the Contemporary Resort Tower Room YOU MUST INSIST on a room on the westside with a view of MK, POLY,and GF. That makes up for the added cost plus you have a balcony to seperate the sleepers from the non sleepers.
Good Luck on visiting WDW for two days.
Although I do tell people to go for the three night/ four days only and visit Two Theme Parks Only plus try to enjoy the WDW Resort their booked so next time they try a different WDW on the next short time frame trip.
After keying all this info, I feel like picking up the phone and booking a trip!
ENJOY!!!

I'm curious too as to where you got those rates also. Fill me in!

I'm guessing those are Florida resident rates. He mentioned driving up from Miami, so I assume he either lives there or is traveling with relatives/friends that do.
