Resort credit?

Hi, with the switch to an AP rate we are now saving another $351.00 off the the cost of AKL. The CM said that he could apply it towards resort credit. (we had already paid for the room in full) Has anyone ever done this? I assume that anything we charge to the room, food etc..will come off of this amount...correct? It would be nice to know that we are already slightly ahead when we arrive. Thanks!

We did this a couple of times-first time worked great. They deduct the credit from whatever your bill comes to at the end of your stay.

Last time however was not as smooth-due to a "glitch" the credit did not appear on our room and not only that, our bill showed we still owed (eventhough we have fully paid the higher rate months previous to arriving-and I had the confirmation to prove it!).
Since they couldn't verify the information on their systems ("glitch"), they charged our credit card for what they thought was outstanding. So, we were out the discount and the balance of our room payment. They could not refund the money until they received verification from their accts department (this took almost one month after we got home). WDW accts sent us a cheque in the mail.

OMG! I hope that doesn't happen to us! It's nice to be ahead of the game with food and such, but I'd be very upset if we had a glitch like that...sorry it happened to you.

We did this recently at AKL with no problem. Our credit was due to switching to an AP rate after we had paid the room. It was just deducted from our bill of meal and souvenir charges. It did kind of feel like a little 'bonus' but ours was a small amount for only a few weeks. If it were a lot over months I may have wanted to be refunded instead.
