We are thinking about checking out the Art of Animation resort on our one "non-park" day and having lunch at their food court.

How will I know what dessert is available to go with our meal? Counter service in the parks is easy, there are usually only a couple of options to go with the meals.

Is it just any dessert-like item they have? :confused3

And this doesn't just pertain to AoA--at any resort I am not sure what my counter service dessert options would be?

Thanks for any help!!

I asked this a few days ago and have not gotten an answer, but I can give a general answer:
There will be the usual prepared carrot cake and chocolate cake like the parks have in the refrigerator area. I think the yogurt w/granola counts. Some people have been able to get a fruit cup.
The bakery/ice cream shop will have cookies and brownies. Some of the sundaes and I think shakes count but not all the ice creams do. They will also have the mickey rice crispy head treats and several bakery goods. You will probably also find Mickey bars and popsicle type things.
Sometimes it is hard to know because not all snack credit items qualify as a dessert.

I assumed, like Pop and All-Stars, there will be a cooler full of deserts to choose from.

Usually, any dessert that is marked with the purple DDP emblem on the menu board or in the cooler is eligible. At some resorts that could include an ice cream or smoothie. You can always ask to be sure.

I just remembered, the website easywdw.com has pictures of the AoA menu board. So you may wish to check that out!

Have a great trip!

We had dinner at the foodcourt at AoA a few weeks back while we checked out the resort. Was told anything in the bakery cooler (yummy eclairs and pastries) was included, there were cookies, etc. as well in there. I didn't ask about yogurt or other items since that eclair was calling name!

Not all snack options are allowed as desserts. For example, it seems brownie sundaes, 2 large cookies w/ice cream, and a double scoop waffle cone are snacks but not desserts. It is the more expensive choices that are no longer allowed as desserts in the last couple years.

If you are going to AoA you really should try the everything brownie for your dessert. It is amazing!!!It has tons of toppings on it like chocolate chips, M&M's, Pecans, Chocolate drizzle, marshmallow-yum!!!I embarassingly had about 5 of them while I was just there!

We were told most snack items could be a dessert. I had a fruit cup at each resort we ate at for counter service.
