Being a realities newbie to WDW (been once) and a Disneyland expert (literally ask me anything I probably know the answer), I am planning a second trip to WDW cause I miss the mouse at DL and MK has him. I plan to split my stay between two resorts, 10 days at resorts and 2 more days of travel. So out of the MK monorail loop resorts what are the pros and cons. Then out of the resorts within walking distance to Epcot and HS what are pros and cons. I will have plenty of vacation points through dvc to either stay at a villa or I can switch to resort room. I plan on getting the meal plan because I found it to be convenient and I go to DL many times just for the food. I once went just to have a gumbo bread bowl in New Orleans Square and then left. Although I've also been known to go just to ride the train (I miss it now that it's closed damn Star Wars).

Thoughts?

Do you have children that will be traveling with you? Are pools important?

We have four little girls under 8. So that plays a big factor into where we stay. Right now we love the Poly, because we can stay in a studio since the baby doesn't count towards room occupancy. It has an amazing splash pool for the kids, and is on the monorail.

For the Epcot resorts, we stay more at BWV because they had (before renovations) the garden view studio that slept 5. And it is a short walk to Epcot and a nice walk to HS. And garden studios are cheap points wise.

We go to Disney often since we are locals and try and conserve our points. Now BLT would be amazing, if we had less kids... Because of the short 10 min walk to MK. I fell in love with VGF when the Tanners went there in the 90s, and have stayed there twice and it completely lived up to my expectations.

I do have two girls. They will be 8 and almost 4 when I go. I was thinking the BWV. Is VGF the grand Floridian? I like the decorations there.

Yes VGF is the DVC building of GF! Although I don't stay DVC, we love the Grand. Going back for our 3rd stay this August.
There's just something special about staying at an MK resort, and seeing the Castle from the resort, and watching Wishes, and the Electrial Water Parade from the beach or other spot at your resort. Also great for dining at all the MK resorts,
GF has a great character meal, 1900. At dinner they have Cinderella and the stepsisters are hilarious. In the afternoon there's a Princess Parade in the lobby, with Cinderella & The prince. Your girls will love it.

Doing a split with an Epcot resort would be the best of both worlds. Not sure when you're going, but they have started renos at BCV. Someone posted a pic of new rooms at BCV and they look great.
I haven't stayed at BW, but love BC & YC. It's a personal pref, so go with the theming you prefer.

The new Poly studios look amazing. The Poly is not as convenient to the MK, since it is a Monorail ride vs a walk, away. BLT would be the most convenient to the MK as it is a 10 minute walk from CR to MK. It is the only resort that you can walk to the MK from. They are just finishing the Oasis (quiet) pool near the Poly Villas, renovation and it looks amazing. You can't go wrong with either. the Villas at the GF are beautiful and grand. I love the theme.
We are BCV owners and love the YC/BC/BCV. The location can't be beat. It is right at the "backdoor" to Epcot and not a long walk or boat ride to DHS. Stormalong Bay is by far, the best pool on property. It is clearly our choice in the Epcot resort area.

Thank you both. I usually go to Disneyland and stay not dvc because it is impossible to get a room. I am thinking fall of 2018 probably September. I will have enough points through dvc I won't have to stay in a dvc room/villa. I'm mostly looking which resorts would be better for us.
