Resort Choice for 1st Timer

After looking at the Poly thread there is some potential construction scheduled for this fall. Is there any place I can confirm this?

I will be the odd one here, but we were at the Dolphin in June and did not like it at all. ( rooms smell of must, pools were dirty and the resort was just in need of a huge makeover.) we were there for a convention, and needless to say we were not impressed at all. You also have to pay to park everyday at the Dolphin.

I would stay POR/ Poly.

Thanks again everyone. With the potential construction at Poly we decided to book POP (2 nights) and then Beach Club (9 nights w/ free dining). We moved from the Dolphin to POP to take advantage of DME and take in the decor. I think the kids would enjoy POP for 2 days. I think this was a good choice and is only $1k (approx) more then our original bookings at Dolphin/POR.

Did you consider Art of Animation? The Little Mermaid rooms are standard rooms. I booked one might room only there before we check in at the Contemporary. In all our stays it's our first chance to sty in a brand new resort!

That was our first choice but the Little Mermaid rooms are booked for those two nights.

That stinks. I guess I really did luck out. I originally booked a room at POR but wasn't really happy, we ad disliked our POFQ room from years back and had also been less than impressed with our one night room at CSR. The POR room was costing me close to $200, LM is just a little over $100.
