Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Please, please, please DO NOT tell me how to rent points because I can SO see myself calling and renting points and staying at BCV. I have been dreaming of staying at an EPCOT resort. (how do you rent point??) no, don't tell me, yes, tell me  (side effects).

I switched our BWV reservation to the BC for the end of May. I wanted to be sure that I could get a room, so I booked the BW at 11 mos. I was very surprised to get the BC for the Sunday of Memorial Day through the following Thursday.
If you go first, you have to tell me all about it because it's been years since we've been.
I we go first, I'll let you know how it went.

Well, if I ever have leftover points...:rotfl2: ..I will rent them to you!
You have to find a trust worthy owner, make up a contract, pay a price per point, depending on the number of points it will take for the nights you want, (Depends on seasons as well, not exactly the same as resort seasons)

They make the reservation for you, in your name.
Many do this, and have a great experience. There have been some bad stories on the DVC boards though. THere is a thread with a "course" if you will to tutor a new renter.

Okay resort changers, I need some help. We currently have room only ressies for a deluxe room at WL in May. We can't ue the new deal with the deluxe room, but we could switch to LVCL at the Poly, or deluxe CL level at the BWI or BC and save $1300-1800 . What would you do?

I gave been waiting to see if you would come back! LOL I have been following that other thread! lol
Hmmm.....I would love lagoon view CL at the Poly...that may be your best best..IF you love the MK area....considering you were at WL....that room catergory at Poly is super expensive, and when would you pay that rate for 7 nights?!
Poly gets my vote:)

I second Diana's vote!

If you crunch the numbers the new deal is a good money saver all around. Go for Poly! :goodvibes

We're leaning toward the Poly too. Do you think we would be cramped with 3 adults, a 5 yo, and a 2 yo?

I LOVE to rent points! I tried it, and once I got over the control freak panic part of the experience :scared1: I was very happy with it. You pay the money, then you have NO CONTROL over your ressie (the DVC owner does, but you don't, and you have to know your dates (firm) and if you want DDP or not at the time of renting.

THERE IS NO CHANGING! Which means, you can't change your mind. I LOVE it because it's the only time I can't second guess my choice of resort. I also love the savings. It's a very cost effective way of staying at a nice property. :goodvibes

I need assistance from my good pals here!!

All day I just stuck up my nose to this new offer... Figured it wouldnt do anything for me, being an AP holder and such..THEN it happened, i started playing with the numbers and going to the WDW site...No say it aint so.....stay away! :rotfl2:
But after reading all these great deals, I was like, wait a minute!
So , I will lay it on the line!
So, I have booked currently, an AP/Dining package....4 nights at CSR , the new business CL...and dining for myself and DD11
* I do have to buy her a pass still, was planning on a hopper, but we could do base if I plan it right and we may to PPP again, so that could be our MK night...
$1,604....

Ok, within the last hour I came up with this....

I can stay 5 nights at AKL Pool View...(we would get in late Wed)
1 day base pass for each...( I understand I can save mine for another time?)
No Dining
$1,782
But, get the $200 gift card, which can be used for ADR's....
and have 1 day for DD's pass....
If I booked this room only rack rate it was $2,464

Can anyone make sense of this....did I explain everything ok?

We have never stayed at CSR and have been excited about it:)

We have stayed at AKV..but DD loves it and really didnt get to enjoy her 1 night stay there cause she was stuck doing homework outside of Mara, (we jsut got back from a cruise)

So now that you guys know my life story! lol

I amjust HOPING someone is still on to help me! lol

Well! That's quite a pickle!

However, you are not actually saving any money, you are spending more money. AKL works out to be $860.00 more. ;)

So here's the Devils Advocate part - Do you think staying at AKL is worth the extra money, and did you really like AKL enough to forgo your much anticipated CSR stay? If you did, then pay the extra money and switch! :)

That is a tough choice between CSR and AKL. Being able to stay and extra nighet would be nice, especially if you were doing the PPP, but it is more money. How important is the dining plan to you? If you got the tables in Wonderland car would that help save a little extra money. Where do you think you're more likely tostay in the future? If it's unlikely you would be able to go back to AKL without the deal but really want to stay there again go for it. I'm having a hard time making my decision too, but I know that if we don't stay at WL this time we'll probably be able to do it in the future since it's one of the cheaper deluxes. Staying at the Poly or GF without a code is not very likely. I don't know if this helped at all. You could always just ask your DD where she wants to stay. No reason to switch to AKL if she is really excited about staying at CSR.

Well I fully admit I am a resort snob and I would switch to AKL.

Hi everybody. This new 4/3 promo has caused quite a shake up, so naturally more folks are lining up with us resort changers:rotfl: . Here is where I need HELP! Like Disneybride03 I booked 5 nights at CSR in the new club rooms. I got a 15% discount on the room (another story) and it includes breakfast, snacks and what else I'm not sure since it will be brand new. Even the rooms will be new as they are rehabbing the property. Bottom line is $2330 for 5 nights (1 adult, 1 jr, 1 kid). We already got our air and changes will be $350 each (ouch) so we are committed. If I want to take advantage of the 4/3 promo with the DDP my options are:
Poly $2780 + 200 gift card
WL 2200+ 200 gift card
Contemp $2650+ 200 gift card
verses CSR Club $2330 (no gift card)
I have never stayed on site but am familiar with WL (ate there) and remember thinking it was pretty, but noisy? Any advice? I couldn't sleep last night, just thinking about all of this:scared1: Oh, and my original budget was $2k, which I have overshot!:rolleyes1 HELP!!!!

Well, CR works out to $2450 if you subtract the $200.00 gift card from the total price. I know it's not perfect math, but it does give you only a $120.00 price difference between CSR and CR, and a really good excuse to book it!

In the case of WL that's a no brainer, you are already saving $130 off of your CSR price, and if you factor in the gift card you are saving $330.00 off of your trip and staying at a deluxe resort. You are also within your original budget if you go with WL. The lobby of WL is noisy, but the rest of the resort is quiet. Just make sure you don't get a room off of the lobby and WCC and you should be fine. The WL lovers thread has a lot of info on good room locations.

So why not go with either CR or WL? :goodvibes

She likes AKL/AKV and the animals:) We would be able to get back to AKV with DVC....I think your choice is easier!!!!lol

Thanks Kaffinito. I think my problem is that I've spent so much time "researching" and being on these boards for the last few months that I'm emotionally invested at CSR - yeah it sounds crazy. I'm a Cancer and "brand" loyalty is one of our characteristics:rotfl:. Now I have it that we are going to have this dream perfect vacation!!! Did I mention my 13 yoDS doesn't really want to go? I just realized today (a bit late) that our home property taxes will be due the same time as the trip! What was I thinking. I am a stay at home mom, and my husband is not a "fan" so it is going to just be me and the 2 kids. I sold him on the fact that it was now or never since my 13 yo is getting "too old". Go figure, I never outgrew WDW, but I think my son may be more like his dad. When we travel, we usually go deluxe - I just can't gauge how much more "deluxe" WL or Contemporary will be from the new CSR club rooms - plus breakfast, drinks, snack, etc. Why can't I make up my mind:rolleyes1 ?
