Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

I'm feeling the urge to make a change
I keep lurking and reading trip reports on the DVC board about SSR.
I don't know what to do? I keep hearing the resort is huge and if you don't have a car it can be a real pain to get around. People don't like the condo layout and it just doesn't feel like Disney.
I'm tempted to switch back to a standard room at the BC.
At least then I know we will enjoy the resort, I don't think I have read any thing bad about the BC. And SAB! The kids would love it! Oh what to do???

I am going on 7 days without changing! LOL...

Here's hoping the work schedule/vacation schedule for the fall is finally set. We're not the only ones affected, and it's getting frustrating!
After 3, (now 4) vacation date changes, I'm wondering if it's OK to keep modifying my reservation, or whether it's better to just start fresh?

I would keep your ressie and just change it when you have to. Some of us on here have changed ressies 3 or 4 times A DAY! When you have it nailed down, then stop. That way you won't have to wait for your deposit to get refunded, etc.

SSR doesn't seem that bad to me. I was there for our DVC tour and spent some time wandering around. If you've stayed at CSR, CBR or POR you will have a good idea of the walking time involved. Plus SSR has a lot of bus stops, and they are serviced on a regular basis. I wouldn't stress about the size too much.

Of course, if you really want to switch to a standard room at BC, then who am I to stop you?!?

hey DB'03--do not let me change to WL CL!!!!! I don't even know why I just priced it out w/the 4/3 deal, but I did....and I know I'm a nut for even considering it (again). What is wrong with me????

I've only stayed at the Poly, and we didn't mind the walking there. From what I've been reading, people make it sound like it's the only resort that is huge and condo like. From looking at pictures, it looks beautiful

Thanks for the advice, kaffinito! Change accomplished. There are a lot less rooms available, so it's probably good that I took care of it today, rather than waiting. It's still Boardwalk, here we come--but with different dates.

Well, everyone/thing deserves a 2nd chance right? However, think of where/how you can spend that extra $$ that would go towards CL....I actually had it booked for abt a day I think for this May trip! Dont know why I talked myself out of it...pine trees..lol...your review of CL...

Sometimes, I think, if that darned site was down, I wouldnt be on, thinking, considering other options!!

Stay put, besides, you never know if some pixie dust may fall your way!!!

SSR is great, our home resort. It IS beautiful...peaceful and relaxing....the CM's are fantastic here, at least in my experiences! I would request Granstand...our fave section, the pool area is great here, never crowded and a pool bar...quick walk to main area where front desk, store and CS restaurant. ANd the main feature pool! You have fountains, DTD across the water....rooms are nice, 1 bdr's very spacious!!!

I do...or we call it changes....as long as the"package" stays the same, I think you can modify dates, I know you can for resorts!

SSR is great, our home resort. It IS beautiful...peaceful and relaxing....the CM's are fantastic here, at least in my experiences! At least you don't book trips you don't intend to take, then then make changes to that trip on a regular basis.

So where are you guys? Any changes yet?

So far I've priced out (but NOT booked) SSR 1 bdr, GF, CSR, POR, AsMo, POP, and last but not least WL. I've also priced out our current package (still at Poly) with 1 day base + DVC discounted AP's and the DDP, and the whole shebang as a RO.

So what's new with y'all?
