Resort Change by Disney

Carlye Wisel just tweeted a list of restaurants that CMs are reportedly being called back to. On the list were places at POP and Coronado, along with all the deluxe resorts.

Disclaimer: She said she can’t confirm the validity but it was supposedly reported on the Orlando Workers Facebook page.

Here’s the list. It’s valid—it was posted on the FB page for the Mousekeeping and F&B union members.

I just wonder when they say Animal Kingdom Lodge if they are talking about Kidani or Jambo. Fingers crossed for Jambo.
I believe technically, Animal Kingdom Lodge is the main cash resort while Animal Kingdom Lodge-Jambo House is the DVC portion. Obviously Kidani is the other DVC portion.

oh i got excited when I seen POP on the list but then as I read it closer, it doesn't look like housekeeping is called back to POP? So my guess is these employers would be used somewhere else?

I think so. And when we look at those dates, they are all for returns before the parks open. I would guess there will be other recalls in the future for the parks opening and, hopefully, more resorts.

I am just at a complete loss for understanding.....we have YC Aug 3-9. The NBA will “supposedly” be there, so I can’t be there, and have SAB all to themselves. (🙄🙄) So, if we get “walked” to BCV we can’t even use SAB.....We do not want BCV and we do not want Boardwalk. However, we would consider GF, but..... NBA “bubble”

So where are we supposed to go????😩

From Dis Unplugged I heard Pete I believe say that he had a friend who had reservations at Pop Century and he was told by WDW that he could keep his dates but they would be moving him to Riviera for $1000 extra cost.
So the option is to cancel, pay the difference and be moved or put vacation on hold until new dates and resorts open up. pooh:

Pete also made guarantees (maybe that's too strong a word) that he had insider information that WDW was opening in time for June for the parks. I've started to question over the last two years about his connections anymore. I believe you that he said that stuff but I just have to take what he says now with a grain of salt.

Interesting, did he mention if Disney contacted the guest or if the person initiated the call about moving? I thought I read if Disney moves you they aren't going to charge a difference but if you change your dates or ask to be moved then there would be a charge.

We honestly need to see if they are charging people to be moved once the parks open

Even when someone has a good source, if they are not part of the decision-making process, there's a chance that what they know as true this morning might not be true this afternoon.

This is especially true during these unprecedented times when plans change almost daily.

Corporate Disney is in an extremely difficult situation. Theme park and hotel profits require high volumes yet social distancing limits Disney's options. The rising number of COVID-19 cases in Florida only makes this more difficult for Disney.

I'm not meaning it as criticism just that it still should be taken with a grain of salt from Pete. Even in pre-covid times. I agree with you about Disney having tough time with this all it just be nice to have more communication.

When did Pete say this? He wasn't on the most recent show from this Tuesday.
