Resort bus, what happened

Iv been to Disney many times and iv always used the resort buses to go to the parks and it's always been a good experience.

However the trip I'm on now I have found the buses to never be on time.

Is the Caribbean bus loop really this bad? Or is Disney just running less buses to save money and screw us?

Are the times on the screen totally off, or do the times keep getting reset...?

Sometimes you're just unlucky and miss a bus before you arrive at a stop.

No, in the resort the times keep changing and then after +30 min a full bus shows up. Then leaving the park I feel the issue is a CBR issue, as the line is always 3-4 buses worth. One night it took 3 double buses to get everyone out of the park. Park crowds are amazingly low this week so all the other bus stops look empty in comparison.

We have been here for 11 days 4 more to go, I hope it gets better.

I normally stay at CSR and iv never been displeased.

Definitely a CBR issue. One of the primary reasons we won't stay there again, at least without a car. We were extremely disappointed.

Oh, we had problems at the Poly during our July stay. On our HS day, we waited for an HOUR for a bus. Not one bus came to ANYWHERE during that hour. There was a bus monitor present who kept calling. They kept telling her any minute. People were so pissed. I 100% think WDW is making cutbacks all over.

Yep, it can happen at any resort not just CBR, and not just buses. Our last stay we were at GF and we have given up using the monorail to and from EPCOT. We used it twice going to EPCOT and once coming back and none of those trips were under an 1-1/2 hrs:( The last trip back from EPCOT we took the bus and total time was 30 minutes:) We usually have good luck with the buses, with an occasional long wait. I do not count leaving at park closing with thousands of other people (we no longer do this) because there is only so many people they can move. But, it is really sad when the bus monitor cannot get a bus there, that definitely sounds like a shortage of buses. Majority of the time we are very pleased with Disney transportatio, we always drive to WDW and the only time we ever use our van now is when we want to go to another resort or off property.

I stayed at CBR this summer. I had a similar experience trying to get to Disney Springs one night. The problem could be where you are staying in the resort. My bus stop was always the last stop before the busses went to their destination which means they had five stops before they got to mine. If you ever run into this issue at the resort bus stop, there is always a phone that will connect you with an operator to try and get you a bus.

I thought the MK loop doesn't have busses that take you to and from EPCOT. I thought you had to take the monorail. At least that is what my experience was like this summer when we stayed at the GF. I'm also staying at the Poly this December, so this is good information to know if this is true. That is maybe since the Poly and GF share busses.

ANY resort can have bus problems at any given time ............ that said .......... overall we have found some resorts seem to have consistently good service (CSR, POP ...) and some have bus service that pretty much has us driving to all the parks (CBR).

While I don't think one should choose a resort on bus service, it can factor.

I stayed at CBR last year. We were there back when they did the 24 hour event. MK opened at 6. We were running a little late, and got to the bus stop at 5:40. There was a huge group of people there. No buses had come that morning, at all! People had been there since 6 am!! We had a rental car, so we just drove. We passed another bus stop on the way out and it was also full of people. Unacceptable IMO.

I stayed at CBR last year and resort transportation was terrible. I will never stay there again simply because of the buses.

We just got back from Riverside and had issues with our busses too. We had an 8:10 reservation at BOG and waited over 30 minutes just for a bus and we were the first stop so the bus had to loop and we were late for the reservation. The entire trip from leaving the room to checking in at BOG took almost 1.5 hours. It always took us over an hour to get anywhere this trip. We finally gave up on rope drop but that didn't even help as the last stop was always so crowded. We often left people there.

We also saw long lines at CBR stops too during our stay when we were leaving the parks. I didn't love the transportation there but we need 5 beds! I think the best bus service we had were at the values, which is sad.

I just got back from CBR and besides one bad bus wait coming back from Disney Springs we had awesome bus service. We stayed in Barbados so we were the last stop most the time and always had a seat on the bus. We got up and did early mornings and left the parks in the evening before fireworks so maybe that is why we had good service. This was my second stay at CBR and both times the bus service was great. Sometimes, it can seem long when waiting for a bus when actuality it has just been a few minutes. Also, I always got us to the bus stop well before any reservation so I would not stress about missing a reservation. On our Hollywood Studios day, we were actually the first people at Hollywood Studios. It was so weird to see the space around the gate empty.

yeah, bus problems are the worst, but they can really happen anywhere. we had an awful time with buses at POR a few years ago (similar to your experience, OP--waiting in the absolute longest line every night trying to get back to our "home") and we haven't been back since. I loved the resort, and I'd never caution anyone from staying there precisely because the buses can be bad anywhere, but to me it's the place I was bus-burned so it makes it hard to book there again.

at the end of the day it's bad luck, maybe a small mistake by the transportation staff dispatching.

Just for future reference Disney recommends you budget 90 minutes to make it to an ADR using their transportation. If you were at your bus stop any time after 6:40 am you were late. That huge amount of time is the reason I budget for taxis to make it to early morning ADRs.

I think we won't be staying at CBR again. This morning we had yet another issue with the buses, this time for animal kingdom

I'm surprised. We just got back today fromy a 7 day stay at cbr and never waited more than a couple minutes for a bus.
This was our experience in November too. We were there 10 days and not once waited more than 10-15 minutes. At the MOST.
