When I recently booked a last minute short stay for Vero Beach, I had asked for a bunch of different room options and each was not available. I mentioned to the cust serv rep that it would be great if we could see what is avail or not avail online prior to making that call. His exact words were "actually that is coming soon". Anyone out there know about the ETA of this?

This is the only official information available on the member website. It's from the 2010 Condo Meeting Highlights on the News page.

Question: Online Booking – When will Members be able to book online reservations?

Response: We are very excited about the recent implementation of two new resort systems that will enhance our capabilities and the progress in designing and developing an easy to use online booking process.

When the new Member Online Booking site launches, in addition to the things you can already do online – Members will be able to book vacation points reservations at Disney Vacation Club Resorts.
  • Search for resort availability
  • Book "points" reservation and immediately receive confirmation
  • View bookings online (past and future)
  • And, even waitlist if necessary
It is expected to be available to Disney Vacation Club Members in Late 2011.

I think they also mentioned it at the 2008 and 2009 annual member meeting. ;)

I'd be satisfied if they would just put a snapshot of availability online every night after MS closes.

I know that isn't the same as real-time and it's certainly not on-line reservations, but it would be a good start.

I worry about how on-line booking will be rolled out. Booking DVC is so much more complicated that booking a cruise, a weekly timeshare, or even Disney hotels for cash. Points have so many complications - banking, borrowing, transfers, multiple contracts, reservation points, holding points, etc. etc. And now we have all the issues with linking and travel numbers, to worry about, too.

I just know there will be lots of bugs. :scared1:

They'll just do what we do with pension planning & retirement - anything outside the 'norm' is flagged and the user is told to call for personalized service :rotfl:.

With Disney IT I scarred at the thought of on-line booking:scared1:

Though I do wish they would show waitlists on the web site.

This would be okay for me as well. At least if you see what is available at night, you know what to plan for when you call the next day.

Of course, we ALL know that this new system will throughly tested with only minor bugs found. And money grows on trees.

The last date that MS told me was the end of August. popcorn::

To be honest, while i like the idea of online booking, it's not the main problem. I have no problem calling MS to make the reservation to make sure all the I's are dotted and T's crossed.

I'm just looking forward to seeing what available BEFORE (or while) I call to avoid the "can I have 'X'.........nope. ok, how about 'Y'........booked. Fine (sounding Grumpy now) what about 'Z'.

It's win-win. MS doesn't have to put up with frustrated members going thru 4 or 5 choices of options they can't book and this will free up the operators to take more calls cause they'll be spending less time shooting us down.

And late August makes sense for a roll out, that will coincide with Aulani opening
