Resort and Water Park pool temps?

I was wondering about the temperatures in the resort pools, based on another thread about posters finding SAB too warm. Since I've never found it too warm (but we tend to go to WDW during the Nov-Dec) I was worried about the OTHER resort pools being too cold during a January trip, since cold pools are like ugh :cold:

Do most people go swimming in January in FLA? What about the water parks, since I heard that might be a perk for the January-March packages? Just wondering what to plan on. If the pools are too cold, I'm wondering if it's worth it to plan our stays around the resort pools, since that's a big part of which resorts we choose

BTW, anyone know which resort pools are the warmest, besides SAB? :confused3

The pools are heated to 82 degrees. You won't find Floridians swimming but I know I always did when we came to Disney. It might be a little cool getting out of the pool but in the pool it felt great.

Yep, 82 degrees. When I booked our room at POP I asked the question about the pool temp. My kids are looking to swim during our Nov. 25th- Dec. 3rd stay, but I dont know if I will brave the waters or not. I like it very warm when I swim and I mean the water temp. as well as the air temp. :wave2:

Thanks, Safetymom!

So all the pools are heated just the same? That's interesting.

We've never had a problem w/ swimming in November or December, so I'm hoping January is similar :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Nope I don't swim in January, but the water is nice and warm.
And as for the water parks, I would look around because I think they close one of them in the winter months. I think that its BB but I'm not really sure, maybe someone else knows a little more than me.

Oh, bummer because I know one of the perks for the tickets was supposed to be the water park access (Jan-March deal for MYW). So I guess that would only be access to one park--Typhoon Lagoon? Maybe I'll get the non-expiration option.

Why is it bad to swim in January--does the cold air outside make it miserable? I hope we can do it :confused3

We just returned (10/12-22) and found the water at OKW to be the warmest - it was hot outside (upper 80s) and the water was almost uncomfortably warm. We're going back on Jan 1-8 and hope it's like that again! :sunny:

I'm not sure, but I think last year they had one water park closed. I'm not sure if its BB or TL but I'm almost positive that its one of them.
I'm don't know what you think is cold but if you need a jacket then I don't really wanna be in a bathingsuit. Last year my DD went in the hot tub and walking back to the room was freezing!

The water has always been warm enough for my kids to swim at night after the parks while I sit in a heavy jacket sipping Irish Coffee, shivering -- anything to tire them out so they go right to sleep. :rotfl2:

We have been there the past several years in November and Blizzard beach is always closed in Nov. I think the schedule is that blizzard beach closes Nov. and Dec. and then Typhoon Lagoon closes Jan. and Feb.

We always vacation in Nov. or Jan. but the last couple years has been Nov. and this seems to be the schedule.

I am going to WDW in March, MYW, I never was told that the water parks were offered with my tickets. I know I can upgrade and have it included. Anyone know anything about this offer. :confused3

we were swimming at pop last dec 1-10. the boys ages then were 7 and 9 mo.and daddy. they both loved it, i made sure i wrapped them up warm as soon as they got out becuase that was a tad bit chilly in my opinion. but the water did feel nice, and they were swimming late, like the other post said, anything to tire them out, even the dh lol.

I'm kind of bummed to hear Typhoon Lagoon will be closed--that's the one we were really interested in trying, but maybe Blizzard Beach is cool, too? The fact that TL will be closed might prompt me to get the non-expiring option so we can try it another visit. :wizard:
