If you fly with southwest can you use the resort airline check-in service to receive your airline boarding pass at the resort.

Last I heard on here was that Southwest was doing a trial at the values only. At any other resort you would have to go to guest services at 24 hours ahead and ask them to print out the boarding passes. The airline desk will only do the participating airlines - at least that was the way it was in Aug.

I don't think RAC will print your boarding pass only but you can go to your hotel concierge desk and they will print the boarding passes for you

Yes. They may even print it out for you the night before and have it at your room.

"Printing out a boarding pass" and "using Resort Airline Check-in" aren't the same thing.

Resort Airline Check-in is, basically, curbside check-in except that it's in your resort lobby ratehr than at the curbside at the airport. Just like at curbside check-in, you are checking in for your flight, receiving your boarding passes, and cdhecking your luggage through to your final destination.

All of that is very different than simply getting boarding passes printed. You can get your boarding passes printed at the Lobby Concierge desk of any Disney resort (as long as you're a Disney guest) as well as at the guest relations locations at each theme park.

I don't even think you have to be a Disney resort guest to get lobby concierge to print them out for you. I've often stopped by a resort concierge desk at our 24 hour mark to have boarding passes printed and they do not ask for resort ID, just your Southwest confirmation number. So even offsite guests that are visiting a Disney resort can have their SWA boarding passes printed by lobby concierge.

When we stayed at ASMu last Oct, as part of RAC our SWA boarding pass was printed and left in an envelope on our door very early on the morning of our departure. Later we went to the resort airline check in counter and checked our bags. All very easy.

Show up at the RAC counter the day you are leaving--within the time limits as posted. I think you need to be at RAC at least several hours before your flight and since they open (I seem to recall) at 5:00 AM, very early flights using RAC would be questionable at best.
Should add that RAC is not operated by Disney at all, but by a private company. They won't know a thing about you or your flight until you check in at their counter.

The RAC desk is open from 5:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. You can check in no sooner than 12 hours before your scheduled flight time and must have the check in completed (not just be in line or at the counter) no later than three hours before your flight time.

I some cases RAC will leave boarding passes and luggage tags in your room the night before your departure allowing you to skip going to the desk unless you need more luggage tags or something. That would indicate that RAC does know about you; at least if you also are using DME.

I haven't had them leave me boarding passes or luggage tags on my door yet. And I've used them three times in the past year.

In any case, no DME has nothing whatsoever to do with RAC. Those who are renting cars, or hiring a car service are all allowed to use RAC...even though not taking the DME bus back to MCO.
There are trucks that take the bins back to the airport. I don't think they are DME trucks but I could be wrong. It could be the same trucks that drop off the arriving luggage.

You tip like curbside check-in. $1 or $2 per bag.

I've had it happen once--at the Poly--so I don't think it's a regular thing. We've flown SWA lately, so haven't had a chance to see if it happens again. But we definitely had BPs and luggage tags in the room the night before. We had the same number of luggage tags as we had bags that DME transported on the way in and DME had our outbound flight info, so I can only assume that Disney provided that info to RAC (which is a separate company, as you correctly noted) for them to be able to do that. You still have to drop your bags off at the desk, but it's quicker.

When we were at SSR this past December, the guy from Bell Services who picked us up that morning (we made reservations a few days before) had our paperwork, including our boarding passes. We flew Airtran.

We were at the Beach Club last week, and Southwest was not a participating airline for them to transfer your luggage. However, we went to the concierge desk and they were able to print out our boarding passes, after we had checked in online using our phone.
