Resort advice needed

In bad need of a vacation with my wife and 15 year old son. We have been working straight through the pandemic and are exhausted . Targeting mid October. We are avid Disney folks. Money is no issue. Usually we stay at a 2 bedroom villa at BLT. Thinking of branching out. Thoughts on Riveria? Elsewhere?

We own DVC at BLT and really love it there. Other resorts we have enjoyed...

VGF - we stayed in a 2BR there and it was beautiful; small resort and easily walkable
Poly - we would get 2 rooms on the DVC side; small resort and easily walkable

If $ is no issue, I'd do either of the above.

Other great options:

Kidani - extra bathroom in the 1BR and 2BR just like BLT; large resort
OKW - large rooms (we've stayed in the 1BR and 2BR); negative - very spread out

OKW and Kidani are our go to for a budget trip. We get a 1 or 2 BR.

Right now I'd be concerned with minimizing my contact with people, so honestly I'd do BLT if you will visit MK. No transportation needed.

If DHS and EP are your focus, check out BCV and BWV. We have not stayed in the villas because our daughters don't like to share a bed.

Forgot to add: We haven't stayed at Riviera. The skyliner isn't for us so no special pull there for my family.

We really like the crescent lake resorts for ease of transportation to Epcot and DHS and the boardwalk. Also enjoy GF for the same reason,
Monorail to MK/Epcot. The walkway from the GF to MK looks like it may be opening soon too so that could be a big benefit. The riviera is really pretty and the grounds are very unique. The quick service is nice and has some tasty options. The cafe and lobby are also beautiful.

We haven’t stayed yet but we ate there earlier this month. I definitely would incorporate a night or two for a future trip but wouldn’t want to stay there the entire time since I don’t love the overall location. I just don’t find the location to be that great of a benefit for a deluxe. Also, the skyliner going down so much in the summer isn’t a transportation plus IMO. And my two cents here, I think the placement of riviera around the same lake that is monopolized by a Caribbean themed moderate resort just doesn’t work aesthetically. While it’s all “working”, it’s an eye sore thematically. Disney really could have done a lot better with the theming choice and saved riviera for another location.

If I was looking at DVC only right now, I’d look to choose boardwalk, BC or GF and maybe do a 1br at one of those resorts. You’d also have the transportation benefit of skyliner/monorail.

I would get a Poly Bungalow if money isn't a question..... or a 2BR at VGF

I would try an Epcot area resort so you can walk to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. It sounds like HS has been very busy and if you can walk there, that is a definite plus. That also gives you a few options to choose from, BWV, BCV, Yacht Club or Swan.

I would do the BC. At 15 it was easily my sons favorite resort and still is. When we stayed there when he was a teen he loved the pool games. There were always tons of kids and he played volleyball in the pool for hours everyday.

I have stayed Tower, Studio and 2 bedroom at Riviera and Vote Riviera because it is new and very relaxing. You will love it
