I have a 1BR room booked here for an upcoming stay booked on points, so I'm happy that we have a bit more than a regular hotel room for no cost.

We were planning on walking to the park, I assume that is feasible.
I noticed a 7 eleven, CVS and Walgreens in the area. Easy enough to get some quick breakfast supplies for room and snacks/water for parks.

Any tips for a stay at this location.

I also have a lot of Hyatt points I could use if a better option is available. I like having a separate bedroom and kitchen for breakfast.

We stayed at the Hyatt House, which is across Harbor but on the same intersection. They did have 1 bedroom suites there, we used our points. For us the walk was 15-20 minutes. It was convenient having all the shops close by, and there's a Starbucks next to the Hyatt House lobby. Residence Inn looks very nice!

The Residence Inn is very nice. We stay there often. Their rooftop pool deck is great and there is a bar and a Pizza Hut in the lobby. It’s an easy walk to the parks, you just have to cross one street plus the Disney shuttle bus entrance to get there. Not sure if they are still doing it, but they used to allow Residence Inn guests use the Springhill Suites rooftop deck to view the fireworks. Enjoy!

The Hyatt House is also nice but I think the Residence Inn is better. If your stay is less than 5 nights, the Hyatt Place could be cheap (12K Hyatt Points) but doesn't have a full kitchen. I'm not a fan of the value of Marriott points near Disneyland but with the upcoming devaluation, it may be good to just burn them now, especially if you don't travel abroad or to places where you can get significantly better value from Marriott points.

We stayed at the Residence Inn over 4th of July weekend 2021. We thought it was great. Very clean and quiet.

We had a car, so we went to a grocery store to buy food. But I think the Walgreens is very well stocked with food items for breakfast and snacks. We also ate a few dinners in our room. We ordered Blaze Pizza from their website and picked it up 10 minutes later. It is located near the Walgreens.

The walk was a smidge longer than I would have liked. But that was mostly in the afternoon when it was hot. In the morning, the walk was a breeze...maybe 10 minutes at the most.

If you want some space and will utilize the kitchen, it is an excellent choice. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Thanks All - I will stick with the Residence Inn! The point usage for Hyatt is tempting, but as gelatoni fan noted, it maybe a good idea to burn the Bonvoy points now.

I got to tell you, it is nice to have options like Walgreens and food to buy right outside of DL. We are so use to WDW and either having to have needed items delivered or be forced to pay Disney prices. I'm looking forward to the flexibility of just running to the corner for a dozen eggs or a bottle of wine :)

We stay there often, and really like it. The pool area was great when we had friends come visit and we could go sit out on the patio and chat. The rooms are decent sized. There is a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf right outside the main doors. CVS was also well stocked. During Covid, we had everything from pizza to mexican delivered. (We were still coming down to escape and visit DTD. Yes, we were those weirdos.)

How are the beds at Residence Inn? Are they serving breakfast and is housekeeping back to normal? My sister has a convention this summer and we might share a suite there :)

Hello, we just returned from our trip. We had a 1BR with 2 queens. No complaints here about bed comfort. We were there for 5 nights, there was no housekeeping, but they did leave us with more than enough towels for our stay which is all I care about. I think I could have requested a new set, but we didn't need.

They have a large breakfast buffet and plenty of seating. More than any other RI I have been too.
It was pretty much the same items everyday.
Hot: scrambled eggs, a meet (usually sausage, one day bacon), potato and one day pancakes. They had about 4 make your own waffle irons too.
Toast and bagels everyday and then a varied pastry item (muffin, croissant, coffee cake)
Oatmeal, cereal, cut and whole fruit and yogurt. Juice, coffee and tea.

I was happy with our stay there and would stay again.

The beds are very comfortable. Housekeeping is not back, however, you can call and schedule it. They were requiring you to be out of the room for a 2 hour window. Not sure if that still holds. But you put your trash outside the door first thing in AM and they empty. Towels, just tell them what you need, and they deliver.

The breakfasts are really good compared to the area.

How far is the walk? I was at Hyatt House in 2019 but isn't Residence Inn further down Katella?

Our Hyatt House walk was 15-20 minutes and I vowed never to stay that far down Harbor again lol. But my kids are older now so the walk would hopefully be faster.

Our walk was 12-ish minutes depending on the traffic lights. Looks like Hyatt House and Residence Inn are at the same intersection of Katella/Harbor but on opposite corners. RI is probably a bit closer since it’s on the same side of Harbor as DLR.

It’s on the Disney side of harbor so a little shorter than hyatt house.
