Residence Inn Maingate- major props!!

I had to come give a shout for the Residence Inn Maingate. It's not talked up enough here! We are here now and checked in on Sunday. I mentioned we were on our "familymoon" (took the kids on our honeymoon) and when we got here there was a lovely welcome basket on our table. A bottle of wine, cheese and cracker plate, funsaver Kodak camera, Winnie the Pooh photo album and a Disneyland picture frame along with two "Just Married" buttons and a handwritten welcome card. I gave them my Vons order ahead of time and everything was in the room, free of charge for them to do our shopping. The breakfast is awesome! We're very happy with it.

Glad you like it! We have stayed there several times and had great service too! Nothing special like you, just clean rooms, friendly check ins, good free food etc. We have stayed in family suite with two bedrooms one with bunk beds twice. We have even been able to watch the fireworks from our upstairs window.

Check out the BBQ patio too. Nice place to sit and relax with a glass of wine and watch the fireworks. Breakfast can be crazy, but we have just sent 2 runners to bring back a selection to the room. Loved having a full kitchen with a table and chairs!

Enjoy your stay! My only complaint was the shuttle buses were frequently full in the mornings! Get there early. We have also walked to DL, but it makes for a long day!

New pool??? I haven't heard about this and am so excited because we love to swim! Please tell us more ASAP! We'll be staying there in just a few weeks!

I'm glad you had a good time. When I used to work for Dreams this is one of the properties on my personal "choice" list I would recommend. I really like their set-up and the fact that they are within walking distance from the parks, though after a long day, people might want to take a cab or the ART to go back.

this morning and they know nothing about a new pool.

Our experience with a pedometer is about 1/2 mile. This depends on iff you are measuring from the first, middle or last complex. We found it very easy.

We had a really good experience with this hotel too. I liked being able to walk to the parks in the morning and then ride the ART back at night when we were tired

It took us less than 10 minutes to walk to the gate this morning, we're not super fast walkers but we don't have strollers or anything to deal with. They have free cookies in the lobby tonight and tomorrow night hotdogs and hamburgers, free. Monday night was a nacho bar. This is one of the most family friendly hotels we have stayed at.

blackjackdelta I was meaning to thank you for the comments you had made about the hotel on earlier threads because it helped me be confident in our reservation.
