I was wondering if anyone has ever stayed at the Residence Inn - Lake Buena Vista hotel? If so, how was it and approximately how far is it from Disney? Is there a Residence Inn that is closer?

Thanks for any info!
Becky

I never stayed, but my DB, DSIL and his family did, and LOVED IT! It is very new, very nice accomodations, a wonderful pool and from what I understand a great buffet breakfast. It is the fartherest away in the Lake Buena Vista area, but only a 10 minute drive to the Parks. Very Convenient , with lots of restaurants and shopping in the area. I think it would be a very good choice for offsite. Last August they were offering a $99.00 rate! Hope that helps!

I also have not stayed there, but last trip to WDW we went over there one afternoon to see the place. The pool area is very nice. The suites are similar to other RI's we have stayed in - decent size bedroom, living room and kitchen. The property is relatively new - opened 2 years ago or so - and everything looked to be in excellent shape.

cacgac is correct that it is a distance from the other LBV properties, but the road from the hotel to Disney is not highly travelled so it shouldn't take very long to make the trip, plus you are away from much of the hustle and bustle.

Hi skimom.
I have stayed at the residence inn LBV last year 2003, it was fantastic. The hotel is only a couple of years old very clean and modern, very friendly helpfull staff. The rooms are truly home from home, dishwasher ,waste disposal, large fridge plenty of space in the suites. Very comfortable beds i felt. The pool was great, plenty of sunbeds. The breakfasts well all i can say is fantastic, the staff didnt mind if you fetched food and took it to your room either. It is in a quite area of LBV , but very lovely and peacefull and only ten minuites drive to disney, shops and restaurants are even closer. Highly recomemded.

How is the pool at this hotel? We have 3 kids (7,6 & 2), so we want to make sure there is a pretty good pool where ever we end up.

Thanks again!

Hi there Becky
The pools pretty good actually, a good size, there is a couple of smallsteps and a rail into the shallow end which will be ideal for your children. The pool has got the usual deeper end at the opposite end. The only disadvantage i feel is there is nothing to seperate the shallow end and the deeper end, however, it does slowly get deeper, not a sudden drop.
The pool does get some shade in late afternoon which is quite good. There is a seperate toddlers pool which would be ideal for the two year old.
Finally, there is also a hot tub which is great, especially after a hard days theme park visiting.
I think the pool stays open untill 10pm, it opens very early, before breakfast.
You can buy drinks and snacks from the pool bar, and ice creams.
Very clean and well maintained, plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, very nice pool area overall.
Hope that answers your questions.
Linda
