I'm planning a Disney vacation for Oct this year with my husband and 2 young children. We went to Disney in 2006 and 2007 and stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree which is now the Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista. Their kidsuites were great then but now are remodeled and do not have full walls or a door. But otherwise, we loved the hotel. I am looking for a similar place with a kidsuite with full walls or a 2 bedroom suite with bunk beds or twin beds. I found the Residence Inn and it looks nice. Has anyone stayed there? Or do you have any other suggestions?

I have not stayed at the Residence Inn in Orlando. However, my DF loves the Residence Inn when we stay anywhere but disney.

When we go to Disney we book a vacation home. Everyone, then has their own room and sometimes their own bathroom.

It is easy in Orlando just go to VRBO and click on Florida and then on Disney area, then continue from there.

Not sure what the closest community is, since I do not drive anywhere but touristy spots while on vacation but I have read the windsor hills is the closest. We have only stayed a Windsor Palms and we loved it. We ike having a private pool and kitchen.

As for your question I would call the residence inn 800 # and ask them. Or call the hotel directly.

Thanks for the advice and the welcome! This is a great site. I will check into what you said.

Thanks again.

Also check out Staybridge Suites in Lake Buena Vista; we had a 2 BR suite there and liked it. I think the room type was called a 'Trio' if I'm not mistaken. (website is www.staybridge.com or www.sborlando.com) Sometimes they have good discounts if you look around.

Also check out the Doubletree on Hotel Plaza Blvd....

Thanks. I think I looked into both of those, the trio suite sounds familiar but I can't remember now! I'll look again. I called the Residence Inn and their family suite is a studio with a king bed and twin beds but with only a partition between the "rooms" and no doors on either. The lady at the front desk said some have full walls but she can't guarantee I would get one of those rooms. I also like the lake buena vista resort village and spa. So many choices.

Thanks!

We booked Residence Inn LBV for our trip last summer, but then decided to go with Sheraton Vistana Villages on International Drive through Costco (not Vistana Resort on Vistana Center Drive).

After calculating all the costs (hotel, car rental, tickets, etc.) we decided that going through Costco which we felt was a better buy for our needs and we are so glad we did! The resort and the 1080 square foot two bedroom suite was amazing: http://www.costcotravel.com/#13_____FLAMCOSVVSVRSPRINGGTS20120210__disney_waltDisneyWorldOrlando

*Full kitchen which included stove/oven/dishwasher/microwave.
*Dining/Living Room
*Two bedroom (1 king, 2 twin), two bath
*Living area
*Washer/dryer in room (LOVED THIS)
*Nice pool areas with resort feel (kids enjoyed the hammocks they found throughout the resort)
*Very easy drive with not as much traffic to WDW
*Close to Publix and Outlet mall but has its own grocery store on site

Good luck in your search.
